I would clarify with my ambigious friend by asking what time are coming by to pick me up.
I can see where both 1:00 or 3:00 could be assumed.
When dealing with ambigious people make sure you clarify.

3:00. Back basically = farther. If you were in a line, and somebody pushed you to the back, it would take longer until you got through. Where do you work, the toilet store?
