I have learned that the Buckeyes don't ever seem to have an easy time, regardless of who the opponent is. I was impressed with the way the Gophers dispatched the under-manned Boilermakers today but I am also really concerned about the Bucks tomorrow, as it appears that Minnesota is playing a level or so above their normal season performances. I look for a close third game. I'll take the Bucks by 5. Turner will have to step up big again.

OSU is getting every teams best shot. UM had two great players along with some shooters and Illinois still had a legitimate shot at an NCAA berth by geting to the Finals.
OSU will win but it will be close. Just look at Duke and how they are getting everyones best shot.

I think the Buckeyes will win big. Minny has been good all year so this run isn't that much of a surprise but it's hard to keep that emotion up for so many days in a row with no break. OSU had to play 2 extra period today too though, that'll have some effect but I think they'll take care of business.

I'm concerned about fatigue on the Bucks bench. With such a small rotation, a game like tomorrow's is not stacking up well for The OSU. With two games already so closely contested, do the Bucks have enough gas in the tank physically and emotionally??

But you have to ask that same question of Minnesota, and emotionally they've had a much harder path IMO. It's hard to pull big upsets 3 days in a row, it's be incredible if they could do it. Oh yeah, and the Player of the Year argument that we were all having last week is over, clearly. I mean, I agreed that Turner was it last week and that the argument was probably over--but after the last 2 days, there isn't even an argument, no matter how weak, that it isn't locked up now.

I think Minnesota takes it tomorrow. Ohio State's top 3 players have played every minute of the conference tournament so far. Third game in three days, they will be slow getting to rebounds. Not good against a team with two bigs by far better than any Ohio State has. Not to mention the momentum Minnesota has built up the past few days.

Minnesota is not as good as the final score against Purude indicates either--I thought it was pretty clear that Purude packed it in rather than trying to put the effort into the comeback. They've got bigger goals, they didn't need anyone else getting injured to try and make a 20-0 run like the Buckeyes did today to get back into the game. Had Turner or Lighty gone down with an ankle sprain today, OSU would have done the same thing. Takes too much effort to make a run like that and you can't risk another guy going down--gotta start thinking about the real tournament at that point.

Oh, and Buckeye fans, since my Hoosiers are in an obvious hole for a little bit (I'm totally confident we'll be back in a few years) do you mind if I jump on the OSU bandwagon for the tournament?! It's more fun when you have a team to root for.

At ages 18-22, one good night of sleep is all it takes to rejuvenate the body. Fatigue is overrated in the college game in my opinion. That's good. They've also played 90 minutes in the last 32 hours. Minnesota could be tired too, but they are bigger than Ohio State, so they don't need to be as active to get boards. Also, if the Gophers are tired, they can just throw the ball down to the post and still have success. Minnesota has to be more emotionally spent. They've been playing for their NCAA tournament lives.
