if the weather doesn't get out of hand, i see the indians airing it out all over the bobcats secondary. Last season at Norwayne, Turbeville burnt Wallace so many times he ended up getting benched and he was their top corner. With the emergence of Rufener and Underation, the Indians have too much talent at WR for the Bobcats to handle

I don't know much about Norwayne but I love the Indian Team. If the D can hold Norwayne to under 20 points they win this game.

I really doubt that Turbeville burnt Wallace that much last year...

ahhh Mr. Russell, you obviously haven't seen him play. He had 2 touchdown grabs and over 100 yards recieving in the first half alone. I think he finished the game with around 150 yards and 2 TD's as the Indians only lost by 7. This is a much better team than last year and with two other legitimate threats on the outside, I can't see the Bobcats being able to shut down Turbeville. Look for a big game from both him and Bauman, who is easily one of the top QB's in the lerague

When it comes to throwing and running ability Bauman is the best in the league. Hackett runs a better rushing attack but is not the passer Bauman is. Both great players but my opinion.

Yes - hope all the kids stay healthy this week. Great time of year and don't want any injuries to further cloud the WCAL race.

Can the Bears make it four in a row over Smithville? Not sure if that has ever happened for either team. Both teams have opponents records of 12-4 with no weak sisters. Last three years look like this.
2007 51-7 Bears
2008 35-21 Bears
2009 42-21 Bears
I expect a 2008 type score with the game up for grabs. We don't seem to be able to stop anyone and Smithville seems to struggle against the pass. Rain and wind could give the Smithies an advantage tonight.

Dalton/Hillsdale wasn't the slugfest I'd hoped for as Hillsdales size pushed the Dawgs around all night. Dalton did have its chances, faultering twice in the red zone. Those miscues completely changed the momentum of the game, giving the Falcs huge boosts of confidence. Dalton will have some major issues come playoff time if line play against physically larger opponents doesn't improve.

Huskies roll (a whole bunch to nothing) over Chippewa. Hopefully, the victory will calm the natives for a few days. Must get ready to visit an angry Dalton squad. Next Friday is a major test.

Norwayne spanks Rittman 35-14. Sounds like the tribe got their first dose of a playoff caliber team. Things should be better next week for the tribe as they visit the Chipps while Norwayne travels to Waynedale. Both teams should still be players in the title hunt after next week.

Smithville over Waynedale 21-10. Can't get much of a "read" on either team other than both appear to be having down years. Things don't look good next week for either as they both play league contenders.

I see Hipsled deleted his posts, took his ball and went home. Hopefully he returns, other than a few disagreements, always found him to be an interesting and knowledgable poster.

Being in the 3-4 against a power running team just doesn't cut it. I thought we would have went to a 50 D in the second half. I wouldn't even talk playoffs at this point..........we need to worry about the regular season games first. Time to go back to the drawing board.

Am doubting that any league team can get enough points to make playoffs at this rate. Too many WCAL teams having less than stellar seasons.

The Dogs should be just fine. If the Dogs win out there in. Another loss would make Dalton on the fringe of the playoffs.

2010 is in fact the WCALs weakest year since 2004. That year we still advanced 2 teams (Dalton & Smithville). Granted, those were very strong teams, going a combined 4-2 in the playoffs, but just looking at the past 8 years I gotta think the league advances 1 and maybe 2 teams to the playoffs.

Heres the numbers....
2010 (38-42 will be the WCALs final regular season record)
2009 (41-39/ 3 teams in playoffs)
2008 (41-39/ 2 teams)
2007 (41-39/ 2 teams)
2006 (45-35/ 2 teams)
2005 (45-35/ 4 teams)
2004 (37-43/ 2 teams)
2003 (42-38/ 3 teams)
2002 (42-38/ 2 teams)

I realize many important factors aren't taken into consideration here, but this is what I'm basing my prediction on.
I predict 1 and possibly 2 of the following 3 teams make the playoffs...
Dalton D6 R21...4-1 (opp record 11-14) Drew Pasteur gives 91% probability as of now
Norwayne D5 R17...4-1 (opp record 13-12) Drew Pasteur gives 61% probability as of now
Hillsdale D5 R18...4-1 (opp record 10-15) Drew Pasteur gives 52% probability as of now

the numbers were done to the best of my ability, however I do make mistakes, please correct them if you find any.

After picking the Bears five weeks in a row it is time to realize they just won't win many games this year. When your best athletes are only on the field half the game you will not win in the WCAL. Smithville kids all played both ways for the most part and that was definately the difference in last weeks game. I did not see seniors Williams and Orr on D the whole night. Mullins needs to be on the field on D every play to at least help shutdown the middle of the field. We need his size also.

This friday could get ugly if we don't adjust. The Norwayne line is better than Smithvilles who ran all over us. The cats won't need to do anything but line up and run right at us.

Every team we have played has a minimum of 7-10 kids playing both ways. They are not wearing out and are killing us.

I could see the WCAL getting three teams in. Hillsdale, Norwayne, and Dalton. But I would not be surprised if only 2 of them make it.

Way to early to count anyone out of the playoff. As of today Dalton is sitting 6th in Div. VI, Region 21, Norwayne is sitting 4th in Div V, region 17, and Hillsdale is sitting 8th in Div V, Region 18. Good possibilities the whole way around. Just sit back and relax, enjoy some WCAL football and worry about the playoffs when that time comes.

Hillsdale maybe, Dalton needs to win out and Norwayne probably needs to beat Dalton or Hillsdale to get in, so the Dalton Norwayne winner will probably make it , the loser will be on the bubble. It is a very weak WCAL this year with Waynedale, Smithville, and Chippewa down it leaves very few points for Dalton and Norwayne to pick up except against each other. So whoever of the 3 ( Hillsdale, Dalton & Norwayne ) beats the other 2 that one will be in, the other 2 will knock 1 out.

For all those DV Region 17 fans, I should be creating my DV Region 17 playoff projections sheet in the coming weeks. I already have my DIV Region 14 sheet up and running since my Titans reside there; but for 1_beast in the past years I've created one for R17 to help with projections after Week 8. Even though it won't be for 1_beast this year, I'll still be posting R17 projections.

Havin Fun, you will laugh but I honestly think Smithville has a better line than Norwayne. With that being said, Norwayne is a great football team and their record indicates that. I just think Smithville has the best offensive line in the league. They have put up HUGE rushing numbers this year. I think they still have at least 4 more wins in them these last five games....

With that being said, the green machine will have to play a turnover free game to beat Hillsdale. It would be nice to have Roseler back.

If you are right Mr. Russell then maybe we have a chance Friday. You may not need Roseler back. The holes were there for the young kid and it is not like the Smithies have not been able to move the ball against quality opponents all year. The Bears literally came away with zero points when we could have had at least two more field goals in the first half. I think our kicker easily get those chances we wasted.
Your guys never left the field for the most part Friday and the same thing with Rittman. The top eleven athletes for any WCAL school will always beat the top 22. We need to play our best kids.

hard to believe dalton would not get in at 8-2 (i still think they would), remembering how they have twice made the playoffs at 6-4 the last few years but with the way the wcal was o.o.c., it could happen.

After playing both Smithville and Hillsdale, the Falcons have the best line between these two teams. I don't know if you've watched Hillsdale play yet Mr Russel, but there is a huge difference between the two. They are for real, so put away any thoughts of the Smithies beating the Falcons.
It doesn't matter who the Smithies have back, the battle will be on the line of scrimmage, which Hillsdale will dominate.
