Pitman, right on....it's a 1 game season for both teams.

A lot can happen between now and then.

PS - The Blog is 2 yrs old today. Seems like just yesterday.

Nice job RedRider! and many more years to come I'm sure.

I can't even say how badly I, as an avid ORRVILLE RED RIDER FAN, want our team to win this game. This is our time boys..........let's get it done!

sman,
I thought that too....everyone thinks he's going to slow it down. Wouldnt be surprised to see him give the up-tempo game a try for at least a half. He's wily like that.

Let's go Riders....Triway got us in football and basketball, that doesn't happen very often (ever?). Time to get some payback tonight.

Here's a little inspiration if you need it.

Great preview article.

http://www.the-daily-record.com/news/article/4787089

Like this quote.....
The Riders and their diehard fans feel a big tournament run is long overdue. Orrville won three state titles in the 1990s ('92, '95, '96), but has not been back to even the regional level since.

"That's something we
talked about at practice Wednesday night," said Slaughter, who was a player on the '92 Orrville title team. "We actually watched the tape of the regional game against Cleveland St. Joe's from '96."
What a game that was....intense from start to finish.

Like this quote too....
There will be a better chance of seeing pigs fly in the sky over The College of Wooster than Slaughter allowing Triway to hold the ball for a 6-minute stall like it did in the third quarter against the Smithies.

"I'm not a very patient person," Slaughter said. "I like to see our team get up and down the floor and I know our players wouldn't like it either. I think I'd have a mutiny on my hands if I told them to let them stall."

No matter who wins the "battle of wills" (which I don't really think it is, anyway, just a battle of strategies), both teams are capable of winning this game at both paces. Orrville can win in a slow-down game, and Triway can win in a run-and-gun game... it's just they have preferences.

Should be a great game tonight. A sold out fieldhouse at COW (I presume), two quality teams, an interesting coaching match-up, I wish it were tip off time right now.

Bet there's been 1500 presale tickets sold already.....leave plenty early to see the sights around the college as you search for a parking spot.

That campus is gorgeous now with all of the streetscape they've done.

^^ It's gorgeous, but more parking spaces would make it even more beautiful, IMO. ;) In order to get a parking spot, I'll probably be there around 6:00, so my girlfriend and I will just take a walk around the "new" campus for a while. See everyone tonight!

Those quotes from Coach Slaughter are exactly what those boys needed to hear. As a fan I love to hear it also.

Good Luck Tonight Riders!

^Further proof that Sly was an excellent hire. A win tonight would be the cherry on top of the sundae.

Might not be a bad idea to park near the gym, walk down hamburger hill for some food and walk back. Weather is too nice.

At least the college kids are on spring break so there will be a little more parking space available.

Wow haven't heard Beall Ave. referred to as "Hamburger Hill" in a long, long time.

I hope the forcasted rain holds off or breaks around game time.

I might have an extra adult ticket for tonight's game that I will be willing to give to anyone who doesn't have a ticket (even a Rider fan), it will depend on how my wife is feeling closer to game time.

PM if you are interested I will send you back my cell number and we can arrange a place to meet.
