Pittman,I am a little dissapointed in you calling out Corbett like that. He is a very hard nose player, not the same as dirty..As far as dirty players how about # 10 in the purple...I thought he was as dirty as any player I have seen all year.
You say I'm wrong for calling out Corbett then you call out one of our players? I was not the only one who saw Corbett's antics. I've been to every DIII Wooster District game, and I've seen Orrville play at least 5-6 times this year, and I'm well aware of how he plays. But from before the game even started, everyone could tell he wanted something "more" out of the game. Ever since the end of the game in The Pit when he refused to shake hands, it was kind of expected, too. It doesn't surprise me... but he does give 100% effort, that's for sure... but some times you need to go for the ball.
Hitman, it appears as if purple glasses taint your eyesight, I saw Corbett hustling after the ball going all out and the purple players trying to get in his way. Apparently you didn't see "purple angels" holding and grabbing Wasson and Bolyard, because purple doesn't foul , they hustle and push and shove but not foul, there's no whining in basketball unless you wear purple and are #10 or Snotty and whine after nearly every call, or did your purple glasses only see Orrville infractions? And if the ref mouthed off at you was it because you spoke first?
LoL! It appears red glasses taint your eyesight, as well. The "tainted glasses" thing goes BOTH ways, sir. Faceguarding is supposed to be physical. I saw contact, but I didn't see holding. Of course, I'm sure Orrville fans were just staring at Polen and Carmichael all game to see if they might tug a jersey every now and then so you had something to complain about, 'cuz there sure wasn't much. LoL!

i didn't really think the refs played much of a role in this one - they let things go most of the night on both sides - there was a lot of holding Bolyard as well that wasn't called, I will admit they called a few cheapies in the second half and got a little more inconsistent. The two things that happened in this game were Triway's poor shooting in the first half and the way orrville's "other guys" stepped up. If triway hits a couple of those three's early in the game, its probably a much better game throughout. That being said , they best team won tonight IMO to move on. Orrville's biggest challenge in the regionals will be the need for the role players to continue to score - Bolyard is the only one that really looks to shoot outside and the others will need to make a few as well for them to move on.
Good post. The refs did NOT decide the outcome. I agree on that.

According to ALL Orrville fans, Corbett is an innocent little kid that bumped a few players out of pure hustle. To see it as that is completely biased as well.

rr1 BINGO on #42. I personally would have loved to see Corbett colide with him. All well at least we are still playing and Triway is at home.
On to the next game Riders.
Good Luck!
LoLoL!! Did you not see Corbett dive straight into #42 and knock him to the floor? Butcher was laying on the ground for a while, which is when Coach Snoddy almost got T'd up, and rightfully so. That was the 3rd "collision" Corbett had with a Triway player. If you didn't see that one, it's NO WONDER Orrville fans are denying any wrong-doing by Corbett.
Corbett normally plays "hustle ball" for Orrville, and I recognize and admire his effort in those games. I've seen him play many, many times. But Friday was downright DIRTY. End of discussion. If #10 was dirty for us, I didn't see it. But it wouldn't surprise me if he was talking a little game. #42 for us is physical and can get caught up in things a little bit... there's a reason he missed the Waynedale game. If he did something in the Orrville game, I missed it.
I was watching the Cleveland Central Catholic vs. VASJ game on TV this morning, and it was a reminder just how good Chal Montgomery is for CCC, as well as Anton Grady. Contain those two, and I like Orrville's chances. But I'd say the same for CCC if they can contain Bolyard and Wasson. Orrville will have more size than CCC, but CCC will have the better supporting cast, IMO. Good luck Orrville! I'm rooting for you, and hope to see you playing when I'm down in C-bus in two weeks.
