You can write whatever you want about the kid but the Bcsn film shows otherwise. The kid is a cheap shotter period end of story.SFSFan wrote: Cheap shot or shot at the ball? Last time everyone was fired up about the same kid in the city finals against CCHS, it was a clear play on the ball - yet nobody mentions the fat a$$ priest from CCHS who pushed him once he got up from the floor and was subsequently escorted out of the game for doing so (nice example set for the students, Father Tubby!) Replays on BCSN - clearly agressive, but totally going for the ball.
That kids name is Yodzis - probably one of the nicest kids you'd ever want to meet on or off any field of play. Smart, involved in campus ministries, student council, you name it...contrary to slingshot perceptions, one of the classiest kids you'd ever meet...he played agressively in every game, but I've never seen a cheap shot just to take a cheap shot from that kid - not in basketball nor football. I've seen intentional fouls to keep kids from making an easy 2, but if you have agressive players on the floor, you want them doing that in certain situations...you don't tell them to dial it back and let their opponent put up an easy, uncontested 2. Personally, I think that was SFS's downfall - only a couple guys played tough defense - Fockler was another. Some of the other kids, not willing to take a charge or closely contest shots - would rather put up 3s on the other end.
Game's over, SJJ won, so everyone can quit bitchin' and whinin' now...should be a good game Saturday night.
