I do agree with the article though.

You've got to be kidding me. How much did they pay to have that printed. They must think bums on the sidewalks and boarded up buildings are attractive.

Yeah I can tell that you've actually set foot on UC's campus

The campus itself really is beautiful. Can't really argue with that. Spent lots of time down at UC while attending Miami, and just loved how it was all "put together."

The surrounding areas aren't terribly nice, obviously, but even i think that is overblown.

P.S. After reading the Forbes article, this ranking seems to be based around an architectural grading scale, so it isn't taking into consideration some of our more common measurements of "beauty." A nice approach to this sort of ranking, and a change of pace from the many other standard "beautiful campus" rankings.

Cincinnati has definitely become a lot more aesthetically appealing in the last decade. It is an urban campus. The survey was done by architects/campus planners to my knowledge, and not college students. They've done very well IMO with the space provided. If a college student wants a more "greenish", open campus with historical buildings UC probably won't be as appealing as a Princeton U. or a University of Virginia. Compared to other urban campuses with limits on space at least UC has become more interesting.

My vote would go to the University of Virginia for #1, as far as this study is concerned.

She works in the admissions office.

I've only driven by, but I always though OU's campus was pretty nice.

It's definitely a cool looking campus, but I'll take a job after graduation that doesn't involve food service instead of going to a cool campus.

I'm biased because I have so many friends that went there, but OU is the best campus in Ohio I've seen...Miami is really nice, so is Kenyon. But OU has that traditional college look even if some of the dorms are a bit far away to classes (e.g. south green going to the engineering center on the west green). Athens isn't the greatest college town but it has enough diversions, the negatives are there aren't any easy road trips.....Parkersburg and Huntington are a long ways away and there isn't anything to do in either place but get in trouble so Columbus is the "big city" destination.

Richmond is the sweetest campus I've ever been on.

Old school people will ask if you're talking about Westhampton (the women's side of the lake) or Richmond (the men's side of the lake).

It is a pretty campus particularly for its size, but sweet criminy that is an expensive school.

The whole thing is awesome. Definitely expensive, I looked into going there but threw that idea out the window as soon as I found out the cost. I had a cousin that went there, I liked it a lot when I visited.

UVA is absolutely gorgeous.

Center of Clemson; my dept. is in the building in the distance. So many campuses have beautiful areas. It would be tough to find campuses that are completely ugly all over.

Hey Ohiotiger33, what does 'iptay' mean? We have 3 very, very close friends that graduated from Clemson and I've seen t-shirts with the slogan but have been too embarrassed to ask about it.

Haha, that was my first question as an undergraduate.

Iptay stands for I pay ten a year. It is the nations oldest and largest booster organization. It used to mean that boosters paid 10 dollars a year to help with scholarship money/etc. and it got you into games.

It is a little different now- for students, it is 30 dollars a year to join, with the benefits being better tickets to most sporting events (All sporting events are free at Clemson; no students need to pay a dime to attend, but many pay the 30 for better seats, especially for basketball as all students sit lower bowl for football on or near the hill). I joined when I was a Freshman because for 30 bucks you get the shirt, slightly better tickets, and discounts around town (20 Percent off pizza hut= hell yes).

But yeah, I am in the Collegiate Club, but there is also a donor club which is way more money, but gets you guaranteed season tickets, and amazing tailgate locations (We tailgate all over our campus at Clemson).
