A top is the giver (male role) and a bottom is the receiver (female role).

Back in 1979 when I came out, no one used a condom. I regret to say that it took the gay world a lot of years to come to grip with the fact that an almost always terminal disease was with us. Yes, gay men occasionally caught less harmful VD's, but a trip to the doctor usually was sufficient. We were very careless back in those days, and I am extremely lucky (and thankful) that I never got AIDS.

You're pretty much an asshole if you can't just accept gay people as regular people.

I mean, most of us got past the 7th grader mentality...I guess a few are slow...

According to the Bible, homosexuality is a sin. I won't bore this thread with references, they are readily researchable. So is stealing, adultry, lying, murder, ect. Man is fallen, and we sin daily. Jesus asks us why we see the speck of dust in our neighbors eye but igonre the stick in our own. As far as I see things, you are welcomed to come and worship. Please sit next to the fornicators and thieves that are also there to worship. A good pastor might tell the congregation from time to time what the Bible says about things, but God heaps mercy and grace on us, and Christ has given us a way to Heaven. Lots of cool things happened at Calvary. Go in peace Fairwood my brother.

Will we ever see the day when people stop using the Bible as a substantial point of reference?

That too, is said in love!
P.S. I don't believe in God or in judgment day, so I'm not sitting here worried about it.

F.K., realize that it is not my intent to force you to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior nor to believe in God. If God wanted to force you or any of us, He could and would. It is a free will choice left up to you.

Although it is God's desire that all would accept Him, He also knows that that will not happen.

There is no need for you to worry, but the judgment is coming!

Sexual preference is not and shouldn't be considered a religious topic in the first place.

squirmy, what you say is true, and men do tend to see the speck in the eyes of others, while yet are blinded to the stick in their own eyes. This is not altogether true of all Christians. We know that we too, are sinful men, but have chosen Christ to help us in our walk in that we would repent, "strive" to live free of sin and not adopt it as part of our lives.

Every man and woman who has a relationship with Christ is also a sinner. But it is our desire and effort to be able to say, "that is what I used to do", meaning it is no longer a part of our life.

It is a true thing that God does "heap mercy and grace upon us". It is also true that His mercy, grace and forgiveness is heaped upon those who have accepted His son Jesus as Lord and Savior. While we yet walk this earth, all sinners have before them the opportunity to turn from sin and accept the Lord's salvation.

The "cool things that happened at Calvary" were accomplished for a reason and were not in vain!

F.K. said that he does not believe in God. That's his choice as is his homosexual choice.

If he dies without accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, Heaven will not be his eternal home. You should tell him that part also!

But, he's not worried!

I don't laugh at them believing in the virgins of their heaven, I laugh at them blowing themselves up to get there.

Big difference :).

Well, people are asking us what's and why's. So others are answering with references.

Will we ever see the day when people stop taunting people who believe in God?

Allow me to rephrase then.

LOL @ people who think you have to abide by certain things to get into a place called Heaven but laugh at the idea of people getting 72 virgins for abiding by what they're told.

You are taking me out of context. That was in response to CBHSfan and specifically about the church.

I am well aware of the difference of bigotry prejudice and discrimination and the twisting tales hatemongers use to pervert them.

The bible tells us what we need to know about homosexuals. The bible is gods word is it not? Or is it gods word when it is convienent?

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

The bad book says to kill homosexuals. I guess we should feel lucky all they do is discriminate against them and not allow them to marry etc.
You should know that the book of Leviticus was a list of Jewish (aka man's) laws that the Jews adapted from the law that God gave them (10 commandments, etc).

Leviticus is a historical book listing the laws for the nation of Israel at that time, it was not what God felt the punishment should be for those given sins, it was what the nation of Israel and its leaders thought it should be.

You have to be able to separate the difference between historical books just talking about what happened at the time and the parts that directly state how God feels about a subject.

If you don't separate the two, you will quickly take verses WAY out of context.

99% of Christians understand this and don't believe you should kill homosexuals.

Matter of fact most Christians also believe what Jesus taught in the new testament about not judging others for their sins as we are sinners ourselves, aka not treating others any different just because they have certain sin in their lives.

The taunts, insults, ridicule, etc., are of none effect and really are expected from non-believers and haters of Christ. The reference is simply to verify the location and existence of the truth. The deeper meanings and reason for some of the activities that are being ridiculed must be studied and researched to understand the wisdom therein as to why these things were done.

I haven't taunted anyone. Don't believe I've insulted anyone. Maybe some ridicule, but true to God-Fearer form, it's not ok to question things.

I suppose you believe God created us too?

You still don't quite understand then if you think Christians believe they have to abide by certain things to get to heaven.

Heaven can not be obtained by "works" or doing good things, or having your "good" outweight your "bad". The Bible is QUITE clear on this.
