The good news for the gay world is that today's younger generation is much more tolerant than the older generations. Everybody in the young world has friends that are gay or black or Jewish or Latino or Asian or whatever. This is a very good sign. Twenty or thirty years from now, we gays and lesbians will have our rights. I just hope I'm around to see it.

Do you consider gay people a race? You are gay. You don't deserve any special rights. What rights do you want that you don't already have?

When I was a young man, I was a devout Christian. I was also miserable. I was a total closet case and I kept trying to be straight. When I turned 30, I accepted what I was and did something about it. The first crack in my religion was when I finally understood that the Bible was completely wrong about me. I had no choice in what I was. I was just as gay when I was in the closet in my 20's as I was as a sexually active man in my 30's. At no point did I ever chose to be gay.

I started studying science in college and I realized how naive the Bible is about all sorts of things. As I grew older, I found many other fallacies in the Bible. This included a bevy of things that were factually wrong. I also started realizing that we are temporary. I no longer believe in the hereafter. I now realize that when we are dead, we are truly dead. It's lights out. There is no heaven, no hell, no judgment day, no nothing.

I do not consider homosexuality to be a sin because I do not believe in sin. I do very much believe in right and wrong, and I try to live a moral life. But the Bible is not a part of it.

I am the worst type of atheist for you to deal with because I am a former believer who finally saw the light. I am very comfortable with my belief system and have no intention of changing. Homosexual acts are not morally wrong if they are between two consenting adults. You will never convince me otherwise.

You are full of so many contradictions it's not even worth to deal with. Go on being gay. You talk of not believing in right and wrong, yet you try and say you live a moral life. No you don't.

I have never contradicted myself on here. I do believe in right and wrong, but I do not use the Bible as a guide. I can think for myself. You should try it sometime.

I just heard on ABC News that some American Christians have gone to Uganda and have stirred the pot so much about gays that the Ugandan government may pass a law that would put gays to death. People sheltering gays would be thrown in jail. Here is the link:

http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/anti-homosexuality-bill-uganda-global-uproar/story?id=10045436

One of the American preachers said he wanted his anti-gay message to be heard throughout the world.

This is the kind of bullshit we're fighting. It is the preacher and the Ugandan leaders who should be punished.

The article brought up some good points. Good for them for standing up for what is right.

What kind of asshole comment is that???

Killing people for what they are is not a laughing matter. If these damn preachers had their way, there would be the same laws in the United States.

It is people like me who are going to fight to see that this country never becomes another Uganda!

Seriously. It's sad and hard to believe that a human being could actually say something like this. I'm speechless. You do know that straight people get AIDS too? Jackass.

LOL. Why would I hate someone who is gay.. Thats more women for straight guys. Besides if someone is gay that is their business. It truly has no effect on my life. What I don't like though is hearing a gay guy talk with their lisp or whatever it's called when they know the person they are talking to is obviously straight. I joke on here.. in this thread just for reaction as I think a lot of people do..
