I'm not a Browns fan really, I don't follow one NFL team--I just watch whatever game is on. But I like to see the Browns do well and considering my location many of my friends are Browns fans. So I've been arguing with them all year as an unbiased observer.
Basically, my argument has been that it doesn't matter--QB isn't the problem but that Derek Anderson is better. Most of them have disagreed and said Brady, Brady, Brady. Like most other Browns fans. But I know without a doubt that Anderson is better. You don't have to look at stats to see it, you can see the difference on the field even when the offense is ugly. But what have we seen here tonight? Exactly what I thought. Brady is worse. His team certainly isn't helping him out at all, but they haven't been giving Anderson much help either. The problem is Quinn is awful. Not comfortable after he takes the snap at all, you can tell he just doesn't have "it". CAN ANYONE SAY CHARLIE FRYE 2.0?? I don't think he's NFL material as of this moment. Of course he could get better, new coach or something--who knows, but it's happened with players before. But hell, has he even attempted to throw a pass over 10 yards? I mean, any NFL defense is going to eat up an offense that doesn't even have a threat to get down the field. With Anderson they'll at least respect that. And no matter what way you want to spin it, Anderson made the Pro Bowl. Yes, he had a solid team around him, but that's what it takes in the NFL. My whole point is, don't give up on Derek Anderson--get him some help. He had a great season on a solid team, he is a QB that is good enough to win you games but until the rest of the team picks it up they're going to be awful.
But did anyone HONESTLY expect to see Brady come out tonight and actually look good?

we don't have receivers that can get downfield, catch the ball, and have no run game. the o-line is giving no time for quinn so what the hell is he supposed to do. we saw anderson the past few weeks and it was putrid so unless we draft playmakers it wont matter who the browns have at qb.

really? Quinn just tried throwing balls down field that jerry rice, randy moss, or tim brown couldnt have caught.

Exactly my point, but there is absolutely not an argument that Brady is better than Anderson. I don't get how anyone still thinks that and I'm talking to a dude right now who does...Browns fans are insane.

Who cares, they both suck, and their receivers suck too.

Haha Quinn's "Hail Marys" are landing 20 yards out of bounds.
This whole team just sucks, how can anyone be successful there.

Find me a receiver anywhere that can catch a ball down the field that's 5 yards out of bounds...twice in a row.
Pathetic.

yeah, the 6th WR that is sitting on the bench could have caught those!SQ_Crazies wrote: Find me a receiver anywhere that can catch a ball down the field that's 5 yards out of bounds...twice in a row.

The Browns are averaging 8.6 ppg
That's terrible.
This is like asking would you rather be burnt or shot?
Who cares both are terrible.

Anderson is a proven downfield passer, who had a lot of dropped balls. He can't throw the ball short though, behind, short etc.
I don't think we've been able to see if Quinn is any good or not. Pulled in game 3?
Anderson is better? He's got a mind blowing quarterback rating of....drumroll please
3.1...yeah...3.1 in the fourth quarter of games this year. I don't care if you have a supporting cast of retards and parapalegics, anyone should be able to do better than that. Do any you realize how close to ZERO 3.1 is?
I'm not in the "Quinn" camp but Anderception is not the answer.

12-30 for 85 yds and 2 INT.
It turns out it wasn't Anderson, it is the miserable offense Mangini assembled called by the worst offensive coordinator possibly in the history of football.

Anderception went to the Pro Bowl--did you miss that? Then they took all his weapons away...and THEN blamed the lack of offense on him.
Point is, they'll both be terrible in this offense without playmakers. And they have none. But Brady Quinn hasn't proven anything. Anderson has at least shown what he can do in a good offense--and I believe they went 10-6 and he went to the Pro Bowl. If they had a defense that year they would have been in the playoffs.
Browns fans have easily taken over the "dumbest fans in pro sports" distinction.

I've never seen so many screen passes in my life, what a rancid job done by Dabol.IggyPride00 wrote: 12-30 for 85 yds and 2 INT.

In that offense no QB could succeed. Quinn might suck, but this offense does not validate that.

No, dumbest. Without question. I've never heard so much ridiculous banter in my life--it's just stupid. No one gets it. You know how many people actually believe Cribbs is a #1 reciever? Or this team could be a playoff team with a different coach or QB?
And the play calls are directly related to Quinns abilities. You saw what happened when he tries to throw a hail mary in hopes of putting at least something on the board. Do you really think he was worried about throwing a pick there? And what happened? 5 yards out of bounds...not once, but twice. LMAO!

Let me preface this by saying that I don't think any QB in the league could do anything with these people around him. However, I feel that DA has the better chance of someday developing into the better QB. I just don't think that Quinn has the tools. DA has the tools, but he needs to make decisions. On a positive note, the defensive front played well tonight.

As a Bengals fan, I hope and pray Quinn is the starter when they come to town. Anderson may not have the stats but watching Quinn play he looks totally uncomfortable. I can't imagine any QB would be successful in Cleveland right now but I do believe Anderson is the better choice.

Exactly! There you go, that's coming from a Bengals fan.
Like I said, Quinn=Charlie Frye. Looks like the same player. Happy feet, not comfortable in the pocket, scared, just doesn't have it for the NFL.

I'm not sure either quarterback could ever be called more than below average. Anderson has looked less terrible this season, but not nearly good enough to start for just about any other team in the league.

Cribbs is a returner, he is not the Browns "wildcat" answer...
And like I said I'm no Brady fan either. But in fairness to him what kind of opportunity has he really had? Do I think he's better than Anderson? Probably not.
The Browns issues go so much deeper than the players on the field it's ridiculous. Lerner is not a football guy, listens to bad advice from guys who are also not football guys, hires no name coaches, assistant, front office...it's friggin pathetic.

Quinn hasn't had THAT much time, but he's been in the league long enough now that he shouldn't look the way he does in the pocket. I'll say it again, he's Charlie Frye. You can tell he just doesn't have it, I really don't understand how people don't see that.
