Ultimately, I don't think admissions of people on here can be used for stuff done one there, because there is no proof that those on here are actually who people think they are. I have a feeling it would be a clusterfuzzy (:D) of a charge to try to prove, given the ability to hide an IP address if one wants to.

This is just a mess, I bet.

Not really. It's just stupid and it stirs up drama for the people in charge--pointless drama at that, what can you really accomplish over there? This place is already dominating that place.

No threats, I just don't want to discuss things too openly since this is a public forum. Don't read too much into me being tightlipped.
Society wrote: Tomorrow...we get to hear everyone complain about lost post counts.
No post counts will be lost. The code/database will be the same. The only thing changing is the name.
SQ_Crazies wrote: As for changing the name, who cares. Give in to them since it's the cheaper route, change the name and watch us dominate them anyways.
This.

Just sayin
I'm not going to ban anyone as I can't control what goes on outside of here but please, for my sake, DO NOT DO IT.

Taken, but you're not far off. :)

I'm warning everyone now..

Do not attack the other site.
Man, they must have gotten some A+ attorney's to try and scare the life out of Justin because between his gag order (it would seem at least) and a forceful message like this it seems that JJ is 100% off limits.

They used alot of creativity I assume in whatever complaint they filed because far as I can tell this site in no way infringes upon anything at the Huddle legally, because if that were the case that site should be shut down because the major fantasy Huddle site was around much before JJ.

I can understand not wanting to deal with that hassle of this financially on Justin's end and its easier just to move on, but it kind of blows they were able to basically scare him into shutting the site down with a mean nasty letter because there is hardly anything illegal about it's existence otherwise.
O-Trap wrote: IggyPride, I think because of that, it has to be something other than just the domain name and site design. Now that I am thinking about it, I recall a topic about an Orrville teacher suing another Orrville teacher for slander or defamation or something like that, and it was based on something said on JJHuddle.com.

I wonder if it's the same idea here (some of the more personal attacks, I would assume, would be the big issue). Naturally, and wisely, those in the know on this site won't confirm or deny that ... hopefully, anyway. I do, though, think it's a possibility.
No gag order or threats. I'll say it has nothing to do with slander, libel, spamming, etc. Truthfully, I don't think this site infringes on anything but I am not about to drop tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees to find out.

The best thing for all of us to do (and not bring any more grief to Justin) is if you still have a valid account over there go and cancel it! If they start losing people who are registered it will hurt them again since they won't be able to use their registration numbers to garner ads.

Oh yeah and Justin please don't tell mtrulz the new site name!

Bottom line is, fuck that place.

No point in any of us going back for anything other than to post there if you really want to. Don't spam them, we've already crushed them. There is no point in bringing anything down on our fearless leader just to, as they say, beat a dead horse.

I was going to cancel my old one, but as it turns out I must have referenced "freehuddle" one too many times back in the day

I think it would be a poor choice for him to actually come out and associate some negative action with the old Huddle at this time, particularly given LJ's stated policy.

Just a thought.

we are being told what we can or cant do on other internet sites. and you dont think members stirring up drama over stupid shit on the old huddle was the reason they started to crack down before we all came here? oh and not to mention mods from here were partaking in the spamming.

I think they keep you registered, b/c I just logged in, but I couldnt do anything once I signed in. (I got banned for "spamming". --I was telling somebody about freehuddle--) I don't think there is a way you can delete it though, I could be wrong?
