Lady Knights once again knock out the Cambridge Bobcats from the tournament with a huge win in the district championship.

Cambridge held a 22-15 lead at halftime, but the Knights once again prove to be one of the elite teams in the state of Ohio. Sounds like coach P lit 'em up at half!!!

Sweet sixteen once again for West Holmes. Up next Minerva.

Cambridge never recovers from that 17-0 3rd quarter run by WH. Lady Knights turned up the pressure D in the second half and got some easy scores to get them going. Way to go ladies, lets keep it going!!

Congrats to the Lady Knights.

Was that a one game district?

Who will they play in the regional semis?

WH must find a way to slow down 6'4" Chelsie Butler. With WH's height issues it will definately be a challenge for the girls defending this Eastern District 1st teamer who is a double-double machine.

Speaking of the Eastern District honors Coach P is correct when she says, "Lindsey Arnold deserves better recognition than she gets". Arnold, a Eastern District 3rd teamer, deserves to be at least second team based on her defense alone. No disrespect to the Eastern District Div II player of the year, who had a great year and deserved the honor, but I think Arnold proved what kind of player she is with her game vs. her.

I thought she deserved better too. There's obviously some politics involved. I watched a DIV Eastern District 1st teamer the other night go 4/22 from the field, throwing up the most ridiculous shots you've ever seen. Coach's daughter. Another DIII girl, who probably is the fourth or fifth best player on her team, was on the 3rd team All District. Coach's daughter. Seems to be a pattern there!

Problem with giving credit to Lindsey is no one ever gets defensive stats. They don't hear about her shutting down the opponent's best guard every night. they go by average points, assists and whatnot and miss the whole of the player.

Sad but true. Maybe they should get defensive stats. I'd be surprised if there were any guards in the Eastern District Division II who had more steals and deflections than Lindsey.

Boy, Lindsy Snyder has really came on at the end of the season averaging almost a double-double. Seems like that has been a key to the LK's push.

Snyder is really important to the Knight's success, mainly because she is the only girl over 5'10" who plays significant minutes. Will have her hands full with Minerva's Butler, but she has the ability to step it up.

Had a nice talk with Lindsy last night. She was battered and bruised from elbows during the game, but had a great smile knowing she'd taken the shots and kept her cool about herself throughout the game. Check out zoomshot's website for a good pic of her gettin' a face full of elbow.

Good job Lindser!!! Keep it going girl!!

The best is yet to come over the next few years for this squad. The talent coming combined with what's currently there will be fun to watch.

She doesn't have to dominate Butler, just limit her by pushing her out a few feet from where she wants to be with the ball, get a hand up, and keep her off the boards. They can help her with some digs by the guards. It'll be interesting to see how they do on that.

Zoomshot.us. Go to basketball photos, girls, then click on Brent Smith's pictures. Follow to the bottom on the screen and click on link for the WH/Camb pics. Go to pic#37.

You can play as physical as you want, just don't play dirty. It's all good though, the 'Cats found out what playing and winning the ECOL means vs playing WH in the tournament. And they'd better get used to it, as WH is going to be getting better in the coming years. This is definately not WH's best team due to injuries and and a transfer, but defense wins championships, and Kehn found out how "player of the year" caliber she was.

This game is long over with but I just joined the party so wanted to chime in. Playing physical is what they are suppose to do, knocking someone in the mouth & laughing about it is a totally different story!! Playing dirty usually doesn't win in the end & it was proven by this game.
