Maryland played a very good game tonight, gotta give them credit after the beatdown Duke gave them in Cameron. The difference in Duke this year as compared to the last few is the inside presence, this is why I think they will make a deep run in the NCAA's this year and not flame out early. Collective effort by the bigs, tons of fouls to give, and they know their roles on the team. Nolan played a great game tonight, scoring seven straight at one point in the game. Gotta love what Z is doing, at least 1/2 season out of four years he is a beast, which is what this team needs right now. I'll say they make the Final Four, then it depends on who they would match up with.

I know you're just being a moron on purpose, but Scheyer already removed Vasquez's jockstrap and beat him with it, earlier in the season. Fact is, they're both great players.

You're so pointless!!

Exactly. What Scheyer does with his personal time is his business.

After Vasquez hit that shot, that only a prayer to some voodoo pagan idol could have made possible, I knew the game was over. I think the game turned with a couple of calls that changed momentum. First, the and one play over Zoubek that was a phantom call. Second, the so called over and back...and third the phantom travel on Scheyer.

But what angered me and cost Duke the game was the stretch of game when Duke shot way too many three's. Many were wide open....but still taken too quickly.

What conclusion should I draw?

1/2 gives Maryland a little credit while the other 1/2 points to (3) specific calls that changed momentum.

IMO, opinion Duke got as many calls as Maryland. Zoubek got away with a couple of shoves, Singler should have been charged with a 2nd first half foul, Thomas mauls people like an enforcer should, Scheyer throws his leg out when shooting a (3) -a move I view as offensive as the flopping etc....

It was pretty good game, which I thought Duke would win when they forged ahead. Credit has to go the Maryland players who led the charge with Vasquez on the bench.

The childish quips aside, obviously I was discussing the on floor talents of Mr. Scheyer. And he handed it to Vasquez earlier in the season, and came up with just as many clutch shots as Grievis last night. Grievis' team just happened to be in position for him to hit the last one yesterday evening. As I said, Grievis is a great player and will get a ton of votes for the ACC POY award (might even win it), but Scheyer has the more complete game.

This has been a common practice for shooters for decades. Who are you to negatively critique a legend like Reggie Miller who made a career out of this? Good shooters understand how to draw fouls. It is part of the game.

I guess I am in the minority, but I am happy with how Duke battled last night. I didn't expect them to win in that environment and they didn't quite pull it out. I loved how they rebounded from the early deficit and put themselves in a position to win.

I think Duke proved they are still the favorite to win the ACC tournament. Beat almost every team in the league at Cameron by 20+. Won road games against all but Maryland, GaTech, and State. I dont think either of those teams can beat Duke in a game on a neutral floor.

Great position for a one seed if things go the right way. Not a bad loss, would have loved a win, but it is a tough year to get road victories in the league and Maryland isn't going to lay down at Comcast like they did at Cameron.

While Reggie Miller did use this "MOVE" that doesn't make any less distasteful. Don't act like it is commonplace. I can count on one hand the number of players I've seen try this with any regularity. I wonder why it isn't an offensive foul because it should be.

I have wondered why they don't just call it a double foul.

Let the shooter initiate the contact to get to the line, but penalize them for it. Seems you give up a foul for points. Is it out of the question?
