I just have a feeling about this US team, they have gotten stronger with each game and Miller is on fire right now. I'm also sick and tired about hearing how great the Canadians are.......yeah they're good but so is Team USA.

Why do I feel it is unfair that if the US does lose that Canada wins the Gold when the US has already beat Canada once? I understand it was match play and then a tournament but still isn't fair in my opinion.

GO USA!

I agree. They should have at least one more game, so they can have a best of 3.

^^^^I was rooting for Slovakia last night. Canada and their fans can kiss my American ass, they have blatantly cheered against us at every venue, even when they don't have a chance at a medal. Beating them yet again tomorrow, in their national sport will make it even better. LMAO........"Own the Podium"..........own this Canada!

When New England beat the Giants in NY to finish the reg season but the Giants won the Super Bowl. I think the US wins because of Miller. He is on fire right now.

Comparing a 32 team league that plays 16 games to the Olympics isn't quite fair. If they are going to use this approach, why don't they just start with a 16 team tournament. Only teams that lose the semi-final games get to play another game for the bronze.

Ya know..many of the events in the olympics have some sort of qualifying rounds. Some sort of seeding rounds....not in just the winter but many olympics.

I like how it is set up. If it was just set up as a 16 team tourny from the start then the argument would be that isnt fair to throw teams together with no practice time and play it out. The prelim rounds gives teams games to play

I dont wanna sound like a jerk..but you seem like you already coming up with an excuse for a possible US loss.

Look as the prelin rounds as any type of regular season. Ya wouldnt just take the top teams and putthem into a tourny without any regular season games to see where they should be seeded.

US woulda been prolly a 3 seed at best going in withouth these prelim rounds. I think the setup is just plain fine.

Actually, I'm not coming up with excuses for a possible US loss. I don't follow Hockey. I'm just stating an opinion.

To my knowledge that is how pretty much all teams sports are in the olympics.

Ya have a prelin round, and then get seeded for a tourney. Plus......really isnt fair to have a team travel half way round the world to possibly only play one game.

I'd prefer that the preliminary round games mean more than just seeding. Instead of three groups of four, have two groups of six play a round-robin, top two teams in each group advance to the medal round.

Thats not a bad idea actually..and to be honest..going in that is what I thought the prelims were for (because ya know its been 4 years since the last olympics).

I wonder tho if we look at everything....did any of the bottom two teams in each section win any first round games?

Of course while here the IOC wants to get as many games in as possible.

I wouldnt be opposed to having the top two teams make it to the tourny round.

The best thing that could happen tomorrow would once again be for the US to score first. Make Canada play from behind and take the crowd out of the game early. Was a huge boost last time and would be even bigger this time around. Miller must steal this game because Canada is playing much better now than a week ago. The USA finally played a complete game against Finland and if they play like that again tomorrow, they can win. If Canada gets that first goal and that crowd gets something to be excited about, we could be in big trouble and the flood gates might open up. My heart says US but my mind says it's very hard to beat a team twice, especially at their place. Should be an amazing game either way tomorrow afternoon.

USA! USA! USA!
