Cannot wait for warmer weather. Been craving a cigar for months. Wife won't let me smoke in the house and I ain't smoking in 20 degree weather outside.

I smoke alot of cigars, but gave them up for Lent. My favs are CAO MX2, CAO Gold Maduro, Rocky Patel Series 1990, and Punch.

The gf just bought me a Humidor and a few cigars recently. I've always enjoyed a cigar on a special occasion or a nice day, but never had enough interest to invest. Well now that I have the humidor, I want to start getting into it.
Anyone have any advice?

You should buy really bad gas station cigars and keep them in the humidor. It'd be sort of funny.

Check out a website cigar.com they have a deal of the day everyday where you can buy five nice quality cigars for about half price or less. The shipping is super fast, and they ship them in their own little humidor. The cigars are super fresh. Thedynasty, make sure you season your humidor VERY well before putting any logs in it. They say to keep humidity around 70%, though I like mine a tad higher. Anything between 68 and about 74 is pretty safe. Less than that, and your sticks get too brittle and dry out. More, and you run the risk of mold.
Don't store flavored cigars with nonflavored (hell, I'd discourage you from even BUYING flavored).
Witt the right conditions, a cigar can be aged as well as a bottle of wine.
Also, a quick note about your hygrometer: If it's analog, don't trust it. Get a digital.
Finally, whether or not you believe it, cigars actually keep better in a humidor that is almost full. If you have a big box, it's best to keep it AT LEAST half-full.

That Sunoco is about to fail. Anyone willing to pay for a RP or Gurkha isn't going to the gas station to get them.

Rocky Patels are my favorites. I haven't had one that I didn't love.

I normally don't smoke flavored cigars, but I have had a couple of Drew Estate's Java cigars. They aren't too bad.

i like black and milds as well, although i wouldnt call them necessarily a "quality" cigar, much like the other ones name here

However, I would group anything you can buy at a gas station into this as well (excluding one Sunoco, apparently). The quality of the whole is indeed affected by any one of the individual cigars, which is why the cheapest quality cigar I've ever kept in my humidor was a Perdomo Fresco ($4ish that smokes higher than its price tag).

Nothing wrong with a GOOD Fuente, though I have to admit, I'm actually not as big a fan of their cheaper stuff.
I'm really on a Macanudo '68 Gigante kick right now.
However, I had another Ashton Cabinet Presidente the other day. Damn thing took over two hours to smoke, but it was a good 2+ hours.
Seriously, one of these days, a bunch of us are going to have to have a Huddle Gathering at Medina Cigar, right off the Medina Square, and right off Rt. 18. Best lounge I've been in in NEO. Guys there are great, too.

I like the Fuente Hemingway. The 858 is a pretty good cigar for under $5.00. I prefer the maduro wrapper ones. I actually bought a box of 858's and passed them out for the birth of my son.
I am down with meeting at the Medina Cigar Bar. I love cigars and the slow smoking and conversations that surrond the smoking experience.
