I'm scouring the web to find a quote and will edit it in when and if I do. But Cowherd just said that when asked why he went for 2 up 30 pts in the fourth quarter this past saturday, Jim Harbaugh said "I'd have gone for 3 if I could".

I'm loving this guy. Hope he doesn't go to ND.

this is my post on another thread:

"my guess would be Jim Harbaugh--not only has he proven himself as an excellent football coach at Stanford,he's done so with kids that Notre Dame could admit(based on academic standards)--I don't know that Brian Kelly could ...also,I'll bet Harbaugh would get him team so jacked to play tsun!!!"

exactly S&L that was my first thought on hearing it.

I'm not finding it anywhere on the web and we know how the herd is known to exaggerate. stay tuned and I'll try to validate the quote.

I know you're not comparing Harbaugh to Woody Hayes, but that quote had thinking the exact same thing. I knew Buckeye fans would love it.

The only thing I've found is that Jim Harbaugh said, "It just seemed like the right thing to do"

A reporter's question to Woody after he went for two against Michigan late in the 4th quarter of a game Ohio State was winning 48-14: "Why'd you go for two, coach?"
Hayes' reply: "Because I couldn't go for three!"

yeah jordo, according to herd, it was off the record and a mutual acquaintance of he and harbaugh had told him. I figured that just the rumor of that quote would have popped up on a blog somewhere but no luck so far.

You've never heard the Woody Hayes' quote in re: to going for 2 against Michigan? Really?

http://michiganzone.blogspot.com/2007/05/jim-harbaugh-disses-michigan.html

I loved what he had to say about his days at scUM.

Then this was a result of his saying something about his days in 2A:

http://sportsbybrooks.com/jim-harbaugh-not-a-candidate-for-michigan-job-14765

Harbaugh's words were: "elitist”, “arrogant” and “self-serving“.

Where in the h311 does one think he learned to be that way? Elitist? Give me a break. "Arrogant": do I need to type anything else.

Harbaugh has had a good run at Stanford. who would have thought he'd have this team in position to possibly play in the Rose Bowl?

I couldn't see him going to Ann Arbor. I can't see them firing Rodriguez. I understand that to be an expensive buy out.

I saw on espn.com that Harbaugh is close to signing an extension at Stanford. If he does extend his contract there, how fast would he back out if Michigan or Notre Dame came calling?

As a Michigan fan I'd rather see Brian Kelly as head coach if they fire RR Harbaugh is great in big games but has lost some that he shouldn't have but Kelly simply wins just about every game plus the Michigan players are spread players and the next couple of recruting classses so Kelly would be able to win right away and possible keep some of Michigans great kids that our coming in IMO

can't see Brian Kelly leaving Cincy. he's got a great situation there. Good team, great recruiting base(Ohio State can't get everybody) and a BCS possibility every year.

that provision was written into his contract; the problem is finding space @ UC with the campus being landlocked and all
