I am LMAO! I had no idea so many other people couldn't stand her. Paula was an idiot, but she was a harmless, sweet little idiot. Kara annoys me in every possible way. Her voice annoys me, her inflection and especially her "I know more about the music industry that any one else, EVER" attitude. I, too, fast forward her comments.

I actually like Paula even though she seemed drunk most nights. I never heard of Kara before Idol so I don't know why she talks like she is the shit.

She supposedly has a written a number of top songs. But to me what comes across is rather obvious bitterness at lacking the talent to actually SING those songs. Seems to think she's better than all the contestants and projects whatever reasons for her own failures onto them.

Yeah, I found that out after a while but didn't know of her before hand.

Kara has written more than just a few hit records. I looked her up and noteed she has had over 169 multi-platinum works. In addition, she is the Executive Vice President of the Talent Scouting Divison of Warner Brothers records. I would say she is very well qualified to render an opinion on this show and her comments have validity.

I think the real issue is she came on the show late in the game after the were used to Paula, Randy, and Simon. She is seen as an outsider.

Personallhy when I thought she came onto the show last year she was the only one to give real singing advice.

Paulla was a trainwreck which is always fun to watch but didnt dispsense any info. SImon is hilarious..brutally honest but doesnt seem to give any tech advice.

^^ Exactly. That is because that is her professional background. Paula would comment how pretty the person was and would always say stupid stuff like "you are using your instrument". Randy always says "I don't know dog; that was just alright to me. It was kind of pitchy". Kara actually tells them stuff to help them to advance in the business and says what a talent scout would say.

that is what I noticed first about her last season. I was like...huh...she actually gives real singing advice instead of opinions like the others due.

Paula..yeah..she may have been more "fun" but Kara contributes more than Paula ever did.

Anyway, back to the competitors, Vote for the Worst has Haaley (sp?) as the worst, but I disagree, the woman that sang Landslide (Lacey?) had one of the worst renditions I've ever watched. I really felt bad for her.

Janell Wheeler and Ashley Rodriguez are gone. Kind of surprised they bit the bullet this early and it's a shame to see such eye candy go away so soon.

The guys sucked just as bad as the girls... This season is going to be absolutely BORING... Not really interested in this years show, at least not while WQED has a show on about the similarities of grass growing and paint drying...

^^^eh, I had Ashley going from the beginning....but Janelle I thought would make it thru till the next round for sure.

bigdaddy...RE Thaddeus: I can't believe they cut him to begin with...and kept Haley (IMO they kept the wrong 16 year old.) Worse...when they added another guy they added Urban instead of him.

The guys cut shocked me. Urban and Lambert were definitely the weakest of the guys by far... I didn't thin Munoz would make it to the top 12, but I didn't see him going last nite. I thought Tyler Grady was top 10 material...last nite blew me away.

The judges were shocked when Tyler Grady commented they did not give him any constructive critcism in Hollywood. I actually agreed with him. Seems to me they loved his retro look in Hollywood yet when he performed last night they ripped him to shreds for it. Compared to the other 11 guys, who was pretty decent. Honestly, I thought he was one the four best guys in the top 12.

I think the chick who sung "Landslide" must have benefitted for Vote for the Worse or whatever. No way anybody likes that performance.

I'll go a step further, that is the worst I've ever seen anyone do on AI (from the semi-finals forward). It was absolutely painful to watch.

Yeah, I don't think Ashley is anything that special but I don't think she was as bad as Lily, Lacey, or Haley were on Tuesday. Thaddeus was definitely better than a few of the current guys.

Does anyone else think this season is one of the worst? They keep saying that it's the best and I know why they are saying it but wow. In seasons past there have 4 or 5 contestants that I looked forward to hear every week. I am only really interested in one or two of the current singers.

Yes. They seem like nice kids/young adults but I don't think any of them are great, and most aren't even good. The worst to me is the really young guy raised by his aunt. They (the judges) are superficially complimenting him for some reason. He is really, really bad, and last night's performance was probably the worst all season (some Lonestar song) yet Simon won't even criticize.

I really liked the kid with the mullet who sung Trouble. His voice was unique and I see a future for him as a recording artist. Definitely should have been in over a couple of the other guys.

As to the girls, I was shocked to see Lily go. To me, she was one of the top 3 girls on the show and possibly top 5 overall.

Ive read none of this thread, and i missed tonights show. I pretty much have Crystal Bowersox and the big, weight lifting black guy as the only 2 that can win this thing.

Hard to believe Lily went this early...she must not have appealed to the masses.....maybe too much of a 'niche' type singer.
Toddrick has a lot of potential but Simon gave him the kiss of death when he said he would be a great singer on Broadway.
