I thought the same.

Lauderdale did an amazing job of not fouling after Madsen fouled out. He can play without fouling and be effective after all.

And that was huge, no question. And Madsen played well when he was in. Buford and Lighty played well when Turner was struggling. Diebler played well overall IMO. And then down the stretch, Turner was Turner.
And overall defensively, pretty good. And they held their own on the boards, which IMO, was the key to the game. Very nice win!

Class and intelligence, it will look better come seeding time. Losing by 7 instead of 12 at home.

lol, a 7 point loss will look better than a 12 point loss come "seeding time"??

I don't think the committee puts much stock in 5 points.

I believe Turner locked up the Big Ten POY award today as well. Playing sick, and struggling...he still puts up a "quiet" 20/10/5 game!!

Seeding guy #1 "Okay, so MSU has a #5 seed.. how does that sound to everyone?"

Seeding guy #2 "hold up! a #5 seed? Ha, more like a #4! Did you forget that one of their losses came from not fouling? Geesh.. you people"

He would have said he knew MSU was going to lose this game because of some strange reason.

I've wondered about his health. I know he has a serious health issue. Surely he'd be up to figuring out the start up of this site.

Didn't Turner also defend Lucas a lot? His length causing Lucas some problems on the offensive end.

I'll be the first to admit...heading into the Ill, Purdue and MSU stretch...I was hopeful OSU would come out 1-2. To come out 2-1, with both wins on the road...I am not sure anyone would have guessed! Too bad they didn't come out vs Purdue to start the game...or could have been in the drivers seat for Big Ten title. Not complaining though...I"ll take 2-1 vs those three. Purdue should go on to win the title now. OSU has to take care of their games...which wont' be easy. And we need for MSU to go into Purdue and win. Then could have a three way tie.

Now we back MSU, they have a game left against Purdue.

MSU's achilles' heel showed up today, their smallish guards. Lucas 6-0, Lucious 5-11, Allen 6-3 and Summers 6-3. All were defended by 6-5, 6-6 and 6-7 players. They towered over then with much longer arms. For the most part MSU's quickness was negated by good help defense by Ohio State.

Matta has done an amazing job with this group, switching from a 99% zone team the past 2 seasons, to a very respectable man defense this year.

Can somebody tell me why Hill and Simmons aren't playing anymore? This really concerns me. They've been playing 6 players for quite a while now and come March, Buford, Diebler and Turner are going to need fresh legs.

Call Matta and ask him. This has been hashed over time and time again. LIke it or not...you may as well accept it because its obvious Matta isn't going to use the bench unless he absolutely has to. I guess his thought is, that those guys, even when tired...are better then the ones on the bench.

Just looking at stats, OSU actually outrebounded MSU, and had more offensive rebounds!! Who would have guessed that!!? That is the key to beating MSU..rebounding and keeping them from second chance points. Turner and Buford had 10rebounds, Lighty had 9 and Lauderdale pulled in 8!

It's my opinion with 18-22 years old kids, fresh legs are overrated in college ball, especially when there is only an average of two games a week. If the bench hasn’t contributed now, then likely they won't, considering the buckeyes three main guys off the bench are seniors. I wouldn't doubt that not only is Matta focusing on this year but next season as well, since all five starters are underclassmen.

Great win for the Bucks.....keep taking care of your business and finish undefeated. I'd love to see MSU head into Purdue and knock them off for a 3-way tie to end the season. How does the seeding for the Big Ten tourney work with a 3-way tie in the regular season?

For Ohio State, an early exit from the Big Ten Tournament might not be a bad thing. Not saying you want to lose, but they might be a team that benefits from those extra few days of rest at home. There are other teams who still don't have a defined rotation and are young, and could use as many games as possible.

VERY simple answer to VERY simple question. Ohio State would not be nearly as good.

You want to lose games? You don't want a chance to win a Big Ten Title? You don't want a good seed in the NCAA Tournament? Go ahead and play 8 or 9 players and be a mediocre team. There is a BIG drop off from the BIG Four to the small two you want to see play. There is absolutely no way Ohio State could possibly be a better team doing that.

This time of year with big end of season games, Big Ten Tournament games and NCAA Tournament games on National TV, there are TV timeouts every 5 minutest.

One day shortly before the excise tax was imposed I remember sparty asking if there were any Doctors on The Huddle. He was seeking a third opinion about an unspecified health issue. One doesn't usually seek third opinions unless there is a serious problem. Why else would sparty not be here? There's no secret about this place.

If someone has his e-mail, drop him a note.

Hmm, not sure I would go spreading it is serious without knowing. I know I had emailed him when he mentioned it had some health issues..and he relayed to me it wasn't anything serious and all was ok. This was a while back.
