For some reason I just wanna laugh at him right now. He doesn't sound sincere or look it when he says I'm sorry.

Anytime someone reads something prepared they look stupid.
I like Tiger but he is better than this.

I wanted to give him the benefit, but this just looks fake.

It looks real fake, he shows no emotion also. It's like he's a robot.

I'm not watching, but did anyone honestly expect him to look/sound sorry? He's not sorry, he's sorry he got caught. Same with any other high profile person who has to make a public "apology".

I couldn't disagree more, I think he's taking responsibility, admitting to giving into temptation, and basically telling the paparrazi to leave him the fuck alone.

He is really pissed about a lot of things it sounds like... most of it sounds genuine me thinks, but it sounds like he will change but he is pissed at what the press is putting him through.

He said "I will return to golf one day... I just don't know when... it may be this year"

bye bye masters.

I got the radio on and didn't know who was speaking...I thought it was some phony politician until I listened to his words.

Doesn't sound sincere at all. I bet his PR guy wrote the whole thing.

He can tell them to leave him alone, and they are a disgusting breed of people, but there is zero chance now that he will have any privacy when he steps outside.

That comment will just intensify the paparazzi coming after him.

There might have been 20% genuine coming from this speech.

Not buying it; too robotic.

On a side note, you can't blame Tiger for his "transgressions;" he's a booty-ist.

I'm a huge cynic. I don't believe for a second Tiger or any of these public "apologies" are sincere.

Of course it sounds fake. Its written words. Its tough to read things and sound sincere. Even the Presidents speeches sound fake most of the time.

That said, he sounded more real in talking about what he is GOING to do and how he wanted the paparazzi to act more so than him being sorry.

Good first step for Tiger
This is part of the process of getting help
I like Tiger and dislike what he has done ....but will respect him more if he can accomplish what he has set out to do now and achieve integrity.

He was robotic when he wasn't in trouble. Did you really expect him to be different now that he is?

What I don't get is when he said that he thought he lived by different rules than everyone else. I hope he doesn't really believe that.

I would usually say something off color or rude for this occasion, but as a change of pace I will obliviate this:

This entire charade is a crock of shit. Mr. Woods owes nothing to anyone exept an apology to his wife and friends.

He owes nothing to his sponsors, They have made plenty of money from him

He owes nothing to the PGA. Sure they gave him a platform to showcase his God given and self made talents, But he has made Golf 10 times the sporting event that it ever was.

He owes nothing to his fans or detractors. Most people are just jealous that he can and will get anything he wants. Sure he got caught. So what. See point #1

It has been entertaining to say the least. I am surprised that he found that he needed to say anything to the public.

End of rant.

This is probably the most true and honest statement he made. A lot of athletes/actors/politicians think the rules don't apply to them.
