For what its worth, had this been a Rasmussen or Fox News Poll, rest assured that folks would be calling the poll bias.

And on top of this, retiring Senator Evan Bayh tells the American people to "VOTE'M OUT" in 2010!!!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1134
In an interview on MSNBC this morning, newly retiring Sen. Evan Bayh declared the American political system "dysfunctional," riddled with "brain-dead partisanship" and permanent campaigning. Flatly denying any possibility that he'd seek the presidency or any other higher office, Bayh argued that the American people needed to deliver a "shock" to Congress by voting incumbents out en masse and replacing them with people interested in reforming the process and governing for the good of the people, rather than deep-pocketed special-interest groups.

2012 is an eternity away...at this point in the last election cycle, very few people outside of Illinois even knew who Barack Obama was.

Lots of things can change, both for the good and the bad in that time.

Can't defend the tanking. 2012 is far away but it is looking like Bush Sr. A great foreign policy, but domestic policy became his demise. Obama's foreign policy is solid, given the complex international chessboard, but frankly his domestic policies, and leadership suck ass.

But, honestly, who else can lead right now?

Exactly

McCain's main advisor from the GE said things would be exactly the same had McCain won

There isn't a Repub or Tea Party potential candidate right now that can beat him...and I don't think there will be

Just a note...this poll is registered voters and "Americans" (registered or not) -- it is not likely voters.

Polls that use likely voters tend to be more accurate for obvious reasons.

Foreign policy and domestic policy is solid IMHO.

At this point where the US is economically, who gives a shit about foreign policy?
Foreign policy can effect the economy these days, so it is kind of important.

Well...the American people are fickle and there are some decent economic indicators showing up...if things really do turn around and unemployment even starts to drop a little bit, and the dems can get Pres. Obama on t.v. refuting Republicans more; if there's anything Obama is, he's a decent salesman and I could see people going for it again. But, still early.

I mean in reality, a large reason people are mad at him was because he was talking about cutting 400 billion from an evil/big government/socialist program called Medicare.

You may have some economic "growth" this year, but that comes to an end in 2011 when tax increases hit the businesses. Better brace for 2011 now, that's when the worst will probably come to fruition.

But what is truly funny is that blind lambs like you believe that government we have is actually taking car of us instead of leading us to the slaughter. Haven't you noticed that over the past few decades this country has been getting worse and worse? That's because the government is getting bigger and bigger.

Look throughout history, the bigger the government gets, the closer that country was to crumbling.

Which is why I hope big government socialists keep getting elected.

For you to call me a blind lamb show how little you know about my political beliefs.

The reasons your suggestion of Dr.Paul(who is in no doubt a highly intelligent man) is ready to lead this nation made me laugh are as follows:

1.The man will be 76 years old by the time the 2012 election comes around. How is a man that old ready to lead?? Will he even be around to serve a full term??

2.The man has already tried multiple times(in multiple parties) to win the nomination, and has failed to convince the American people he is ready to lead. What makes you think he can do it now??

Wow eers....openly rooting for our country to fail...real nice pal

Ron Paul would have been the true "Messiah". Some of his views might be a little too archaic, but it would have been a lot of fun watching him veto every fuggin spending bill...including that of the Pentagon.

He wouldn't be afraid to do the "grunt" work and get rid of everything.
