first of all I didn't even hear them talk about it. Second of all Shaq always gives shit to Charles about what he says about him. Who do you think Charles is gonna pick?

No, it really isn't. He got the 2nd place credit for the last 7 years, what's so much more special about the last 7 than the first 7? It's the player of the decade, not "the dude with the best numbers this decade". Sure Shaq has fallen off, like I said, he played in more than twice as many games than Kobe before the decade started.

And how is LeBron not relevant but Shaq is? Shaq finished behind LeBron...

LOL, really? That's why Charles picked him? Is that also why Kenny, Webber and McHale picked him?

Why ignore the previous 7? Why was Tim Duncan ignored then? He hasn't fallen off.

Then who is #1?

Kobe doesn't deserve #1, that's all I'm saying. Shaq or Duncan is the player of the decade.

I agree it's Shaq by a wide margin. Jordan was great, but I don't think even he dominated his position like Shaq did. If Shaq caught the ball even remotely close to the paint, it was two points and a foul. No one had a chance to stop him except the refs. I can't recall any other player getting a rule changed because they were so dominating(the restricted zone was added under the basket in 1997). They only other player that I would consider adding to the "dominating" list with Shaq is Lebron because of what he can do at his size, but that would be down the road after Cleveland's looming dynasty this decade.

Shaq, Duncan, Kobe would be my 1-3

You can't discredit Shaq for doing what he's doing at the ages of 35-37... Those years he's still put up pretty impressive numbers.

As you mentioned 2quik, this is player of the DECADE. Not just the last 3 years. What Shaq accomplished this decade has been truly amazing. He was the most dominant player in the league for 6 or 7 years of this decade. He's fallen off a bit because of age, but you can't fault him for that. He's also accepted a limited role on a team now, which is something that is almost unheard of in today's athletes..
