What is Orrville's plan to replace the big 3 they will lose to graduation this year? Of course, I would like to see them advance if Triway doesn't. I am sure Genoa and OG will be tough as usual. I had never seen seen OG play before this year. Seems like an awesome program.

I understand you hope they have reloaded, but do they have someone ready to fill those rather large shoes left empty. I understand last year's JV team was a little weak. Do they have a new group of horses ready to get into the race?

I think next year Genoa is gonna be a team on a mission and will be tough as nails to beat

Genoa may be on a mission next year, but they are not nearly as experienced as last year and the talent runs a little thinner overall. I can see them making the playoffs next year and I don't see the regular season results being much different, but it will be interesting to see how deep they make it into the playoffs. I know they are a primarily running team, but does Genoa have a quarterback?

I feel that Clear Fork should have a real good shot at making the playoffs and have a chance to make a nice run.

I think we make the Final 4 again but it will all come down to how well we use our skill position players. We're losing alot of key talent thoughbwcomet89 wrote: Genoa may be on a mission next year, but they are not nearly as experienced as last year and the talent runs a little thinner overall. Genoa cannot make the final 4 running the ball every down. Seriously, I'm asking, who will be Genoa's quarterback? I was told last years backup, Bryer, has little intent to become the starter. That leaves freshmen Young as the only QB. Next year's team reminds me much of Genoa's 2007 team. Very big, talented, but inexperienced at important skill positions.

Wonnell is still narrowing his choices. It looks like he is going to turn down football at Toledo for basketball somewhere else. It's only a matter of where. It doesn't sound like anyone is going to play football at the next level. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.Riderwannabe wrote: did any of the Genoa players of this last team 2009 sign to play at the nexy level?

Right now I think Clear Fork would have to be considered the clear favorite in region 14 if Jordan Mccune is healthy. Mccune is a special back and his loss late last season really set back Clear Fork. Outside of Clear Fork i'd imagine it will be a collection of the "usual" suspects in reg 14 ie Ottawa Glandorf, Genoa, Huron, Orrville, Fostoria.
Some Darkhorse contenders to maybe sneak in as an 8 seed would be Wauseon and Port Clinton. Yes you read that right i said Port Clinton. It's a real longshot but if a couple things break right for the redskins on what should be a much improved team they just might sneak in.

WOW! Let's assume that 6-4 could get them in. Do they play Genoa still? If so, they need to beat one of the following:Tinkertrain wrote: Some Darkhorse contenders to maybe sneak in as an 8 seed would be Wauseon and Port Clinton. Clyde, Perkins, Edison or Huron.

I said it was a real longshot but if everything breaks right they could find themselves hanging around that 8 spot. Port Clinton was exetremely young last season but won some big games and improved every single week. It really was impressive to watch Port Clinton improve week to week last year and with 16 starters returning who knows maybe they could get to 6-4/7-3. They also have a player in Steve Wingo who is capable of dominating a game. Those in Genoa wont remember him because he was out with a injury at the start of last season but when he returned he was nearly uncoverable at WR and really shored up the defense from his safety spot.
Also Edison looses basically everything off of last year's team outside of Matula and Tomson.

You could also possibly see Lake contending for a spot. They have some big winnable games at home against Northwood and Eastwood that will determine if they can steal a spot. They finished 7-3 this year and bring back a ton of weapons.

Lake must beat either Northwood, Eastwood, or Genoa to make the playoffs, and I think they can take Eastwood next year. Last year Lake was responsible for putting Eastwood and Northwood in the playoffs. Martinez must be a better threat through the air for Lake to be a contender though.
Who does Eastwood have next year? I know Pernell Connor is coming back next year and is an early candidate for POY, league and district, but who else?

Orrville shot their collective wad last year against Genoa. I saw the game against O-G, and physically, O-G handled them. Score was close, but up-front O-G did the job.Riderwannabe wrote: we always like to be the underdog,so all people in the region, please count Orrville out this football season.
