I watched the game against Saint Mary's last night and was extremely impressed with this team. They currently have notable wins over Wisconsin, Illinois, Cinci, and Memphis. They sit at 20-4 with a 75-71 loss to MSU, 77-75 loss to Wake, 76-41 loss to Duke, and a 81-77 OT loss to San Francisco. What impresses me most is that they only had one loss of 5+ points. They are a very deep team and get 5+ points contribution from 7 different guys each game. What are everyone's thoughts on this team and their chances of making a run in the NCAAs?

Well, they don't sneak up on people anymore, so they seem to be more of a targeted team anymore.

I think they are good, but really, just like most teams, you need to be hot in march and have the brackets fall your way.

I like the Zags, but I've seen this story before. It is troubling that they got rolled by Duke and it is troubling that they struggled to win at Memphis. Duke has proven to be a good, but not a great team. Memphis is not the Memphis of old.

The Zags are 2-3 versus what most would consider top 25 teams.(Duke, Michigan State,Wake,Illinois, Wisconsin).

Matchups are key for the Zags. Bouldin and Gray tend to struggle a bit against athletic guards who can pressure the ball. They did well against Memphis' pressure, so that is a good sign.

A couple of things you can be sure of. The travel will not be a factor, since the Zags have traveled the country from coast to coast. The time between games won't be problem since they have played with one day's rest on numerous occassions this season.

IMO, college basketball is way down this year. That opens the door for teams like Gonzaga, Butler, the A=10 teams, etc.... to make a run.

Couldn't agree more about college basketball being way down this year. You could very well see a cinderella get hot and win the whole damn thing.

Elias Harris will be the next great star for Gonzaga and could possibly be a great NBA player imo.

The guy has great size and athleticism, 20 yr old freshman who played on the German national team last season. I love his game.
