You missed by a whole point. Yup, this team continues to play like shit. Just awful. And our coach stinks too.

Regular season means nothin.

There...I think I've covered all the talking points for the night.

The offense stalled a few times, especially when Shaq couldn't get the ball in the post. Howard fronted him some, they doubled him some, and Shaq didn't always work hard enough, but they couldn't get the ball to Shaq on the block, forcing them back into the watch LeBron dribble for 20 seconds offense.

Still, the offense wasn't a problem. When you score 115 points you should win the game by 20. The defense was awful until there were about 5 minutes left in the game.

There is no one available that I would trade Hickson for. I think his ability to finish strong at the rim off of feeds from LBJ and Shaq is more valuable to the Cavs then a 4 who shoots jumpers.

I know it means nothing. We can play and put up points almost at will at times. Just like they did tonight with about 5 to go. I believe this team will take it to another level in the playoffs and unlike last year It all just seems better. I mean did you guys see Andy play and knock down shots in the 2nd qtr. No one beats us unless we choke. JMO Time will tell.

JJ played a solid game on offense but he still struggles on the defensive end of the floor. He had quite a few lapses tonight that cost the Cavs. I like the kids potential but I'm not sure how confident I feel about him starting in the playoffs.

JJ plays good in spurts but he defense is still iffy at best. This alone will make him a liability come playoff time. There is a reason why Ferry is going after PF's and its not because of AV.

JJ is a future piece for the Cavaliers but he isn't a main piece for a deep playoff run. Even W&G (who has helped train JJ) notes that adding a Jamison type player will give the Cavaliers extra time for JJ to develop before depending on him full time.

Shaq is fired up after this one apparently. On Windhorst's Twitter.

Superman my ass.

You tell me who the real Superman is. Don't compare me to anybody. I'd rather not be mentioned. I'm offended

Hakeem, Ewing, Rik Smits, Duncan, Robinson, the best of the best, straight up. I never doubled nobody.

This thread was funny to read.

Some of you guys still don't understand this Cavs team. This team has the ability to do something that last eyars didn't.. Turn it on when they want to.

This team knows that they can turn it off at times, while conserving a bit of energy, but turn it back on when they need to...

The improvement of this team is beyond ridiculous. JJ, Jawad, Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon and Shaq add elements that a LeBron led Cavaliers team has never enjoyed. LeBron, Brotha Red, Boobie and Mo have all stepped their games up this year as well.

I never truly got this feeling with last years team. They played great, no doubt, but they struggled against the top teams in the league. This team just has another gear when they play the LA's or Orlando's of the world...

JJ is untouchable, IMO. When two current guys (LeBron AND Shaq) says he is close to becoming a 20/10 guy, I listen. They obviously love him, and JJ has shown some vast improvements on defense. That 1-on-1 block he had on Dwight was a thing of beauty.

To you guys who bring up Mike Brown. Give it up. He made some GREAT adjustments in this game that really helped turn the tide. He drew up some fantastic offensive sets late in the game (the Shaq oop being 1 example) and he put in a very nice line up that actually gave Orlando some fits..

One more thing to add: When Orlando went up 7, it was a thing of beauty to see the Cavs clamp down and work back to take the lead before the end of the 3rd. That's exactly what I mean by turning it on. They just seem to have an extra level this year..

Also about JJ again, he may have been beat by Lewis a couple of times, but he made Lewis look foolish on defense as well...

Finally somebody besides me who gets it. I thought I was alone.
And about Brown not being a good coach. You guys are nuts he did great last night.
You know I understand the skepticism because you are Cleveland fans but cmon can't you see it, can't you feel it? And one more thing. We got the King. period

One more thing. Those TNT announcers saying Orlando has the best bench in the league. What's up with that?
It is obvious who has the best bench in the league and that is another reason we are getting it done.

Depth is definitely on the Cavs side. There really isn't enough playing time to go around once Mo and Powe get into the mix.

I am not a fan of Mike Brown though....I don't have anything against him, I just don't think he is anything special. Lebron James coaches this team.

Mike Brown turned the Cavs into a 50 win team with essentially the same roster that former coaches had. Why? Defense and discipline.

He's not afraid to call people out and if you don't play defense, you don't play. I like that about him. His coaching is vastly underrated here on the huddle. If we had a coach like Mike D'Antoni, we may "look" sexier, but we would NEVER win a title.

LeBron is good enough to freestlye his own plays from time to time, but a lot of those offensive sets you saw last night were plays Mike Brown drew up. Not to mention the defensive adjustments he made on the fly. When the Magic went up 79-72, Brown went with a different line up that was actually a bit small. The Cavs came back quickly and never really looked back.

There were severe glimpses of the ECF series last season in last nights ball game. Orlando having wide open guy after guy on the 3 point line will need to be dealt with. There was two times last night that Orlando missed wide open 3's (Lewis/Nelson) that would have put the game within striking distance. You cannot have those lapses in the playoffs because we all know that the Magic can come back quickly. Orlando coming back after being down 14 points and taking a 7 point lead. Lewis hurting the Cavs once again on the offensive end.

There were two offensive sets that both went to Shaq in the 4th quarter, that was it. The one alley oop for the dunk and the one air ball dunk. That is all I can see from the game tape.

All these things haven't changed from last season, that's a fact.

When the Magic shoot the 3's incredibly....not average, incredibly....they have the chance to beat anyone in the league. Last season in the ECF they did that, in the finals they didn't. Last night you saw them do it for a stretch, and that stretch was the only reason they weren't down by 20 for the whole game. A smart betting man does not bet on the team that lives and dies by the 3 ball. The Cavs have taken away the pick and roll advantage, so all Orlando has is its three ball. The only way the Magic can beat the Cavs is by hitting the majority of their three pointers and have the Cavs miss their shots on the other end. Plenty of things have changed from last season....and THAT'S a fact.

Orlando is the type of team that makes runs. That's how they are built. They do it to every team, not just the Cavs. If it was a problem isolated to the Cavs, then I'd be worried.

However, last season when Orlando came back and took the lead, we never responded. We have been responding all year this season.

The funniest part is a lot of you claim it to be another regular season game, yet, during the in-game threads some of you guys act like the apocalypse is happening to this Cavs team.

Mike Brown may be a top coach in the NBA, but he doesn't get the respect he deserves from his own fans. It's kind of sad really. I truly think Cleveland fans fail to realize what they have until it's gone.

I'm not one of them though. I've been a Cavs fan since I knew what basketball was. I know how good we have it right now. We've been lucky to have some good coaches, but we've also been cursed with some terrible ones. Mike Brown is not terrible. He's a very good coach who can still get to the next level by winning a title this season.

There have been a few coaches in the LeBron era here, who haven't been able to get it done. Mike Brown is not one of them.

The fact of the matter is, Orlando will get open looks. That is fact. There is NO team and NO defense in this league that will take away open looks from an offense. It happens in every game. You guys just magnified it because it was against Orlando. We had open looks as well. The thing with last year wasn't the open looks per se, it was more so the pick and roll game with Hedo/Dwight/Lewis that killed us over and over and over...

I haven't seen that this year. We match up much better and thus, have nearly eliminated the pick and roll weakness from a year ago.

2008/2009 Orlando Magic

Eastern Conference Finals
10.3 3PM/G
25.3 3PA/G

Regular Season
10.0 3PM/G
26.2 3PA/G

It's not like the Magic were blazing out of their minds in the ECF. Over a six game series, they made a little less than two more threes(1.8) than they would have normally. 1.8x3=5.4, divided by six games means they got a little less than a point more per game than they normally would have from the three. Hardly shooting "incredibly." Dwight Howard was Cleveland's problem; not the threes.
