Once Kobe goes back their touches will be limited and Gasol will start complaining pubically once again. Maybe Kobe realizes that he needs to shoot less and focus on getting the ball inside.

Won't happen. When it comes to Kobe...it's all about Kobe. Been that way ever since the Shaq days.

Funny how we never hear LBJ's teammates rip on LBJ. Not ever...not even one time.
Jordan's teammates couldn't stand him, even got in fights with him at practice, I guess it was all about MJ too. Magic publicaly called for the Lakers to fire their Head Coach, I guess it was all about Magic.

Funny thing is MJ has 6 Rings, Magic has 5 Rings, Kobe has 4 Rings and Mr.Congeniality has ZERO!!!
How many years were those 3 guys in the league? how bout throwing those stats out?

I'll say this...

Magic won a title and Finals MVP his Rookie year.
Jordan won a title and Finals MVP in his 6th season.
Kobe won a title in his 4th season.

LeBron is now in his 7th season and has not won anything.

Um, the Bulls were TERRIBLE before Jordan got there and he led them to win a Championship in his 6th year. But yet LeBron is in his 7th year and still hasn't won anything but yet you all call him the GOAT????

Kareem Jabbar took the 2nd worst team in the League and an exspansion team at that in its 3rd year of existence to a Championship in his 2nd year. In his first year he got them to the Eastern Conf Finals. He is the GOAT.

Finally you post something that I can agree with. Don't know your age...but without looking it up...I can remember when UCLA was the preseason #1 team....(right after Gail Goodrich and Walt Hazzard's back to back title years)....and the Freshman team with Alcindor, Mike Warren. Luscious Allen, and Lynn Shackleford annihilated the varsity by 20 points. Back then, freshman were barred from playing on the varsity.

Kareem can be argued as one of the GOAT's....As for Kobe.....not even a top 25 player.

OK....so if A=B and B=C.....then the reason why LBJ hasn't won a title is because he's not a selfish cocksucker? Muhahahaaha.

You provide great entertainment Skykook.

Magic played with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Kobe played with Shaq.

Jordan won his first title in his 6th year..Lebron is in his 7th..I'm not sure how that's significant to you? Seems to me, if Lebron wins it this year, they'll be pretty similar.

Jordan won his 2nd MVP and then his 1st Finals the same year. We'll see how that plays out, I think the 2nd MVP is basically a lock at the moment.

There's no doubt in my mind Bron wins the MVP this year, unless something freakish happens.

But I honestly am not sure if they will/can win the Title.

But what people don't understand about me is I might be one of the biggest Lakers fan on here, but I love LeBron and I don't dislike the Cavs. Almost everyone on here thinks there is some kind of rivalry between the two teams; there isn't. And I wouldn't want anything more than to see Bron win a Title; it will happen eventually. I just don't think it will be with Mike Brown as a coach.

I don't think anyone can really be sure enough to say that anyone will win the title. He can, I don't see how you can say the Cavs couldn't at the this point. Can and will are two very different words. Who knows, that's why they play the game. And yes, unless something crazy happens, LeBron might as well already have the MVP trophy in his trophy case because nobody is even close right now.

Yea, LeBron is the lock for MVP this year.

I still like the Lakers chances to repeat though, playoff basketball is much different from regular season ball.

Can they win the title this year, yes. But so can A LOT of teams. Will they? I don't think so.

But can a lot of teams REALLY win the title this year?

In my opinion it's LA or Cleveland.

Boston is too old and decimated by injuries.
Orlando had a bad off-season, signing the wrong guys and letting the wrong guys get away.
Denver? ehhhhh i don't know, I think LA is a 100% lock to come out of the West...and theres three teams in the east, thats it.

Well technically 16 teams CAN win the Title :)

But yeah it's pretty much up to 5 teams. LA, Cleveland, Boston, Denver, & Orlando.

Yeah, I guess I'm not in total agreement with you there. I think it's Cleveland or LA too. I don't think anyone in the West is strong enough to take down the champs. And I don't really think that Boston or Orlando is up to the task of knocking out the Cavs either. Enter skyhook to say didn't we hear this last year...and yes, you did. However, this year is WAYYYY different than last year. I'm sure you'll bookmark this page and if the Cavs lose to the Magic again or something you'll call this out--but I'm not talking about results, either way this year is definitely much different than last. But like I said, that's why they play the game, nothing is certain. Still gotta execute.

I think three teams can actually win it all.

Lakers
Cavs
Nuggets

Right it should come down to LA and Cleveland; but you can't rule out the other 3 totally right now IMO. I really think Boston will make a move to get younger. I'm not sure how I feel about Orlando, they definitely regressed as far as talent from last season; they are right there again and on some nights look unbeatable. I really think Denver is the only one who can't realistically win but only because they will have to go through LA to get there.

The Lakers are the only team winning the title this year. Sorry.
--------------------------

The Lakers won't re-up Kobe Bryant. They are instead going to resign Dwyane Wade.

Lake Show gets whacked by the Nuggets in the WCF...book it.

If I am wrong Sage, I will buy you all the Lady Bligh you can drink at the Osu/Miami tailgate in Sept.

*sets aside Laker homerism aside*

Yea, definitely could happen.

However, you are forgetting one thing:

GEORGE KARL IS COACHING THEM. GEORGE KARL. Also, when some of your main cogs are Kenyon Martin & Earl Smith, you lack a champion's mentality. Those guys simply aren't winners. They haven't gotten better from last year, so I don't see it.

I will only require 2 bottles of Bligh. One for me and the rest of the tailgate.

I will end up blacking out. Hillbillies beware.

I do agree about Kenyon and Smith, but I (it pains me to say this) think that Melo has turned the corner and they do have one proven winner.....Billups. I do think the Lakers should win it, but my question is.....how long will Kobe's finger bother him? Is it one of those things that will linger until he gets an offseason to heal?....who knows.
