Will he get the Jim Thome/Carlos Boozer treatment or will the people of Cleveland still love him?

It's a no win situation for LeBron. People will hate him.

It's not a "no win"...he can stay.

If he leaves after winning a title....it will be less hate from the fans....but they'll still hate him.

Still think he stays.

I won't hate him but I won't cheer for him. I am a Cavs fan.

I meant it is a no win for him if he leaves with the Cavs fans.

I think so. Lebron is loved and he calls Cleveland his home. I don't think Boozer was ever loved, and he had no ties to the area.

I don't think anyone can comprehend what it will be like if Lebron really does leave, but I'm starting to think more and more that he stays with the quality of a team the Cavs have (although it is largely because of Lebron).

Anyone who has seen More Than A Game can see how close him and Gloria are. Gloria says he is leaving over her dead body...will Jay-Z have a hit on Gloria?

I believe the only place he would leave for is the Nets.

They will get the #1 pick and take John Wall from Kentucky

They also have the money to go out and get 2 big time free agents.

All of that to go along with Lopez would make them a pretty serious threat in the east.

That would be the only place I see him seriously consider leaving for.

He would be hated, but he's not going anywhere.

For the same reasons I see the Nets as a possibility as well. His boy Jay Z, the cap space, Brook Lopez and a few other solid young players. If they can somehow get Chris Bosh and Lebron and then John Wall in the draft along with Lopez, they instantly become one of the best teams in the NBA.

I know those are a lot of "ifs", but it really is one of the few I could see Lebron going to.

And I don't care what his mom wants. Lebron is a grown man who is taking care of his mom, she is a puppet.

Is that the same person who Lebron told to "sit your ass down"?

Yeah she's calling the shots for Lebron. LOL!!

The Nets may not have as much cap space as you think with the salary cap dropping another 8-9 million dollars this offseason. They would have enough money to get Lebron but probably not enough to get him and Bosh/Wade or whoever. Only way that happens is if one of them takes less money, which I doubt to some degree.

If he were to win a title with the Cavs this year and leave, he would not get booed as much when he came back, but still get booed nonetheless.

If he wins a title it wouldn't be too bad.

If he doesn't, he would arguably be more hated than Art Modell in Cleveland. It would be borderline unsafe at games where he came to visit. I know that I am a Cavaliers fan and have been since birth which was well before LeBron started playing. My first game was during the first season of Gund Arena and saw Mark Price, Danny Ferry, and Hot Rod Williams. I will still be a Cavs fan long after LeBron leaves, and will boo him till my lungs go out if he ever leaves.

They will only have a 25% chance of winning that pick. Since 1990 only 3 teams that finished with the worst regular season record have won the lottery. Also, why would Lebron want to go play for the Nets? They have no history, they will be trying to sign some big names to come play at least 2 more years in the Meadowlands. That arena is scheduled to open in 2012, but who knows if that will even happen. I just don't see him leaving unless something changes drastically in the next 3-5 months.

Plus, with the uncertainty of the CBA entering 2011, I can't see any of the big names of 2010 leaving approximately $30 million on the table. If the owners get what they want, there will be a hard cap in place and they will also lower the cash pool to the point where these guys would not be able to make up that lost salary.

He isn't leaving Cleveland. Yes, I am a Cavs fan but I am a sports fan more than a Cavs fan. I just don't think Lebron leaves. The New Jersey situation isn't a for sure thing. Neither is Cleveland but the chances in Cleveland than they are in New Jersey. Even though Ferry says the Cavs aren't pushing to make a move, I really think he is.

The #1 pick was rigged for Cleveland in 2003 for Lebron and it wouldnt be a surprise to see the #1 pick given to the Nets.

You're right, because the NBA loves to see LBJ in Cleveland. They probably rigged the lottery a couple years ago when Boston had the worst record and the 1st and 2nd picks went to Portland and Seattle so Oden and Durant could play in the pacific northwest, both hotbeds for NBA marketing.

I say he wont leave though unless some second part of the season meltdown/first round upset.
