I don't think he is going anywhere, BUT if he does this board will get very, very quiet. And you will see sooooooo many less "Cavs" fans. Only the real Cavs fans will boo him or have a dislike for him. The "Cavs" fans who are just LeBron fans and have only been since 2003, will still love Bron and worship the ground he walks on.

But this issue is dead IMO, he isn't going anywhere. Danny Ferry finally did what he wanted and got him a team that can win a a ring. He will be in Cleveland until he retires.

I don't think he'll leave, but we've been burned enough as Cleveland fans that I'd be lying if I told I was 100% sure of it.

I agree with those who say that it won't be as bad if they win a Championship this year and he leaves...but I also think he will stay if the win it all this year so it's a moot point.

If he leaves without winning a title, he will be the most hated man in Cleveland sports history (maybe behind Modell) All the open rooting for the Yankees and Cowboys will be thrown in his face. It will be ugly when he returns to Cleveland (and I'm not just talking about Gloria)

Whether he wins a title or not, if he leaves he will be hated. They will have to forfeit his first game back as a Net. Then after the anger wears off, losing 50+ games a year again will take its toll, and the Q will stop selling out and the team will move to Seattle.

When Lebron leaves, I think fans will be disappointed, but they won't hate him as much as expected. He has done a lot for Cleveland and objected fans will recognized that.

Since he isn't going to leave millions on dollars on the table, I'd say this thread is pointless. Especially since Cleveland is looking good for the Finals. Not sure they will beat the Lakers but I don't see the crippled Celtics or the poorly changed roster of the Magic beating Cleveland in 7 games. LeBron isn't an idiot, he'll stay with the Cavaliers easily with a 3 year contract.

Plus, I am sorry but take LeBron off the Cavs and they are going to win more than 4 fucking games. The Nets are a piss poor team and even getting John Wall won't help them. Being LeBron I would never be enticed to leave a franchise that is in great shape just because some team drafted a 1 and done player LMAO.

The cap in the NBA will poise problems for any team trying to land two superstars while fielding a competitive team. Yes, the Knicks would be able to sign LeBron but they would lose their best player right now in David Lee.

I actually have talked to a higher up with FSN recently and he said the rumblings around the organization is that Lebron will look to sign a 3 year deal with the Cavs. He doesn't want to lock himself in long term.

Personally, I think that would be a very smart move by any superstar, but at the same time you like the long term security. Either way, it is going to be interesting how it plays out.

Windhorst has called this move for some time now. That will leave LeBron at 28 and still in his prime.

If that's what he's looking for, I see no reason for him to not sign with the Cavs.

Windhorst has felt that this is what LeBron will do for some time now. Its just not a good time for a player of LeBron's caliber to change teams, especially when you are leaving one of the better ran franchises top to bottom to a current 4 win franchise.

The other NBA teams are just not organized fully from their rosters and coaching all the way up to their FO stability. The NBA cap has also played a huge role, as it may decrease once again limiting teams capacity to sign major players and still fill out a competitive roster.

I am not saying LeBron is 100% a Cavalier but every indication is that LeBron will be back in Cleveland next year.

Top 5 is quite different from Top 1.

If LeBron does not win a title this year with the team he has around him there is no way in the world he ever wins one in Cleveland.

What he does as a free agent will be determined by the playoff run they make.

It's going to be a big-time failure if LeBron leaves Cleveland without a championship.

Then he's going to go somewhere else and probably win a few and those will be his best years. Where he's holding the trophy and celebrating.

People in Cleveland will try to make it sound better by saying "he had some great years here...it was fun" but it won't be enough for a city that has been down the road before with the Browns falling short in the 80s and the Indians falling short.

He isn't going to leave. If he did, I'm not sure what the reaction would be. I've never been quiet about saying I'll be a fan of whatever team he goes to--I've always had a soft spot for the Cavs, but when it comes to pro athletics I'm more of a player fan than a team fan. So I won't hate him, but I'm really not sure how he'll be treated in Cleveland. If he wins a title this year and still bolts then I don't think the people will hate him--some will. If he just bolts then they'll probably hate him. But, I'm 99.9% sure he isn't going anywhere and I have been for 2 years now...we shall see...

Making it to the playoffs and almost winning a championship is just not good enough. If you go back to the Pirates teams of 1990-1992. The Browns teams that lost to the Broncos. The Steelers team that lost to Dallas with Neil O'Donnell. All the great Indians teams. Some good times if you were a fan of those teams, but without the championship it's unfulfilling.

The Penguins Stanley Cups and the Steelers recent Super Bowl runs were teams finishing it off and achieving the ultimate glory.

That's the only way LeBron and the Cleveland fans get it done is if there is a championship to celebrate. Trick shots in practice, some great dunks and a few decent playoff runs won't be enough.

I don't think he will leave either but there is a lot money going to be thrown around and some big opportunities. If he does leave what an enormous letdown. I think it would be better for fans to cherish these next few months and hope they can deliver this year, just in case.

The money thing is a joke and the most false notion in sports right now, I'm not even going to argue this again with someone.
