I'll be at that little get together just to see the possibility of a Huskie and a Bear sitting down at the TumbleWeed.

My conclusion is this ... this sectional is stacked. Some good kids that would have easily made it out of another sectional will be sitting at home after this week. The state needs to fix this.

it s pathetic when you go to the grid on Baums, and look at the average # of wrestlers per barcket in other sectionals(9) vs the number of kids in NWN sect Brackets(12-15). This is THE toughest thsi sectional has EVER been. Its goin to be worth the price of admission!!!!
The state does need to fix this...the allignment is terrible

I don't claim to know the seeding procedures, but the 140 class looks a bit backward. It probably doesn't matter much though as Nelson & Stanley will still end up in the championship finals.

I agree this is a tough sectional but nothing will be done about it. We should take pride in the fact our area is loaded with quality kids. The Medina D1 sectional has even more of a problem with 5 conference or division champions including state top 10 teams Wadsworth & Brecksville in a 12 team field.
It would be nice to get the NWN sectional down to 12 or 13 teams, but getting rid of CCC & Mapleton wouldn't have any great impact competition wise and reassigning eastern & southern teams like Manchester, Tuslaw and Loudenville could result in teams like Keystone, Wellington, Crestview & New London getting assigned here. Different faces, same problem. Lets face it, if you live around this area you won't be wrestling in some fish laden choirboy sectional. A trip to districts will be earned.

I would concur with that. My brackets show Tuslaw with 12 in the winners, only 2 in consies. Eight or 9 for Waynedale.

the state does not need to fix this sectionals i think this makes for a funner race to state and as a former wrestle i always liked wrestling in a tough sectionals and district it means more when you get oout of sectionals and districts you earn it more ........... good luck to all wrestlers today should be a fun day

This is a district. That is the issue. The worst part is that it is all political and none of these schools have the pull. ED's, Wadsworth, Iggy's, and the other power schools all get split up. Ed's and Wadsworth are in the "NW" sectionals districts while the all the other power's are in the NE. Why can't the little schools get split up? Especially when you have 15 TEAMS in this sectional with 10 or so in the rest. I know Waynedale WOULD LOVE TO GO SOUTH! The problem are that there are kids getting sent home a week early (maybe even two). HVY is the best example. There are 7/8 Legitimate district qualifiers. I believe if they don't wrestle each other in the consi semi's ALL 4 GO TO STATE out of this sectional. The other 4 left out would be two match winners at district. It's a shame. Orrville and Triway should be elsewhere or a Manchester/Tuslaw. Along with CCC being out of this completely. It's just crazy. Only positive is that this sectional will win 65% or more of the matches at districts.

Why should Triway go somewhere else when they are only about 15 min. away from this sectional? Orrville and Triway are much closer here than Manchester or CCC!

The young Mustangs pull off the huge upset over the state ranked mighty Golden Bears. Fun team race. It was close the whole way! Great group of schools and competitors , good luck to everyone that made it thru this meat grinder .

What happened in the Raber match at 160? I heard there were some bad calls to force the match to overtime?

First off, congratulations to fellow PAC team Tuslaw on winning a very tough sectional tournament!

Secondly, Great Job Manchester and the five sectional champions!
103 Kyle Ferguson
125 Josh Kapper
130 Shane Brown
171 Brit Hunter
285 Kyle Kelly

Also placing for the Panthers- 135 Ken Facemire (5th) & 152 Clayton Hanzel (6th).

I think the PAC as a whole had a nice tournament. Good luck to all the Northwestern District Qualifiers next week at Maple Heights!
