Since last July my dad has been barely able to eat due to great stomach pain. Antacids would help a bit, but never really got the pain to go away. Finally 2 fridays ago he went in for a barium scan. They didn't find anything in his stomach but saw a large mass pushing on the top of his stomach causing his pain. He was then scheduled for a blood workup and a CT scan. We all got really scared seeing as how the #1 reason for an enlarged spleen is Leukemia.
Fast forward to last friday and he goes in and has the CT and bloodwork done. The specialists tell him that his Dr. will get back to him with the results on Monday. So today the Dr. calls him and lets him know that his spleen is not enlarged and has nothing wrong with it. It seems that an accident earlier last night knocked it slightly out of place.
The bad news is that he has a giant mass on his one kidney. He has an appointment scheduled with a urologist for a consultation for surgery. They don't mess around with this kind of mass, they just go straight in and remove the mass or just straight up remove the kidney. That is the point where they will be able to biopsy the mass and determine if it is benign or malignant. So needless to say we are all quite shaken up and I am pretty scared for my dad.
So, point is, I'm sorry for taking this out on everyone.
