I heard someone on ESPN say that it was ND's fault. Did this kid HAVE to film practice? They claim he tweeted or texted someone a few times that he was scared or something. Hm he was a 20 year old dude he could have got down. I feel sorry for the family's loss but don't go putting blame on the school. He didn't have to stay up there.

You ever have a job before? I'm assuming yes. Have you ever tried telling your boss you don't want to do something because you don't feel right doing it (something non justifiable)? I'm assuming no. And if you have, and he didn't tell you that you have to do it anyways, then you're the exception, not the rule.

There's no chance in hell Declan gets off that thing and still has a job the next day. It was a very tragic event, and my condolences to both his and the ND family, but ND is 100% at fault here. You need to ensure employee safety, and ND failed to do that.

I didn't know he worked there. I thought he was a student who was just filming the practice. Yes, I agree it is ND's duty to provide a stable work environment. I'm simply saying I would be getting down if I was in conditions that were dangerous on shaky equipment. Hardly an ignorant statement. A job isn't worth your life. You don't think the kid knew he was in danger? I agree it's mostly ND's fault but not 100 percent.

It's pretty sad that ND fans have delusioned themselves to the point where only ND deals with injuries, special teams aren't part of the game, and that close losses deserve 10 year contract extensions.

Can it get any worse in South Bend? Time will tell.

He was a student who filmed practice as part of the video crew. Every program in the country has a video crew with students working for it.

Delusioned? When do you become in charge of making verbs out of nouns?

See if you can comprehend this: losing your quarterback, running back, tight end, and wide receiver is going to set any team back. It's only exacerbated when the entire program is switching from a pro-style offense to the pass-happy spread. You've done nothing here but display a clear lack of knowledge. Go fuck yourself.

This hurts. Lynch was a tremendous snag. Apparently his mom said he was in tears while decommitting. Sorta like a girlfriend crying when she dumps you. haha

This kid will be a monster at Florida, Florida State, or Miami.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Crist lose the job to Hendrix. Rees looked, not better per se, but definitely more comfortable than Crist has, albeit against Tulsa. Crist throws lasers, Rees thrives in the spread. Hendrix throws lasers and thrives in the spread?

Hendrix and Rees will have the rest of the season and spring to get better, Crist will be sidelined yet again. If you're in a knee brace, you're not getting reps. If you're not getting reps you're not getting better. If you're not getting better, you're getting worse.

Its going to set them back, sure, but they'd still beat Tulsa. 20 years of excuses, no results, Notre Dame football.

Armando Allen is having surgery scheduled to repair his hip.
We dressed him so he could run out of the tunnel one last time

Also Hendrix and Massa will compete this week for the #3 job. IF Hendrix is the guy moving forward, hopefully he isn't forced to burn his redshirt these last 3 games.

I heard this conversation the other day as well. You could make a case for both sides of the argument. At the end of the day the coach is the CEO out there on the practice field. I like the guy but imo this tragedy is on kelly

I'll be sorta pissed if they burn his redshirt. It's like Ohio State thinking about playing Sabino, if the kid is a stud don't play him if he's not absolutely needed.

Was he the operator of the lift? Did he try to tell people he felt unsafe (I read something about a twitter post or something that said he did)? What would have happened if he had the opportunity to move the lift back and the ND coaches disagreed?

If this isn't 100% ND's liability, it is 99.99999% their liability. Coaches run the practice. period. They screwed up royally by putting the kid in a dangerous situation (even if they were fully unaware of the danger). It is crazy to me to even insinuate that he's at much fault, if any. He was doing his job.

I'm not saying Sullivan was to blame at all for this. But it would be asinine to assume that his twitter and facebook posts were trying to tell people he worked for/with that it was dangerous. I don't believe his bosses in the video department, Brian Kelly, or any of the other coaches were checking their twitter timeline or facebook feeds. Someone else said on here that if he would have come down because of the wind he absolutely would have been without a job the next day. I honestly hope that none of you actually believe that.
