What a waste of time by the police when there are many other problems to handle.

His defenses have been less than stellar.....but his offenses have been outstanding and the W-L record speaks for itself. Now, I'm not saying this is a guarantee that Kelly will have this same success at ND but it's worth mentioning.

I was not knocking his W's and L's. He obviously finds a way to win ball games. But comparing the Cincy schedule to ND schedule isn't fair. If he couldn't stop the offenses on Cincy's schedule he will unfortunately be in for a rude wake up call.

Some cops just don't care. :(

It can't get any worse. Yeah, Kelly is known for his offense but when he took the job he identified that the defense needs to improve big time. So I don't think his sole focus is on the offense and that's it. The other thing he has going for him is he will have an immediate upgrade in talent than what he worked with at UC.

True. I also think reverting to the 4-3 last year was terrible. I'm excited about the 3-4 this year. I personally favor a 4-3/4-4, but that's because I coach HS and teams can't throw efficiently, but Notre Dame has so much talent at LB they need to get it on the field so the 3-4 should help. Plus, our DL talent is sparse so it's an additional benefit.

I don't know if any of you knew this but ND has new jerseys this year, well "tweeked". The block ND logo will be on the sleeves again..........I like it.

Cal signee Chris Martin has decided to transfer citing too many distractions in the Bay area. I hope Kelly was on the first thing smoking to Oakland this evening.

I don't like the jersey. I thought they were perfect under Weis. These go back to the Holtz jerseys, correct? I would like to see them have an alternate away jersey similar to what Holtz used against Florida though. White jersey with the green numbers, it'd be slick as hell.

The logo on the back and the Adidas logo front and center are fucking terrible.

Chris Martin back to Notre Dame would be a cause for violating my parole with some celebratory inebriation, I'll say that much. :D

EDIT: I assume these were the inspiration.

...if you look closely, you can see that Holtz is screaming "GET THAT FUCKING JERSEY OUTTA HERE!!!!"

And Pat Haden is now the USC AD....so which former anti-ND jock will they get to replace him?

That logo on the back is fucking awful. Maybe a clover would look a little better but to have the same ND monogram 3 times is a little ridiculous.

I think those new uni's are awesome, even the block ND on the back. Classic and fresh, yet not flashy, perfect fit IMO.

What is the rule on Martin leaving Cal? As long as Tedford releases him from his scholie he can play this fall where ever he signs? Similar to Henderson/USC? I think they can say he can't sign with certain schools but Tedford said he was in support of the decision.

I can't get over this uniform change. I mean how are these not pretty much perfect?

Although, these were slick too in my opinion:

There really isn't much difference in the new uni's and last year's. The new uni's are almost identical to the second picture you posted so I can't see how you can love one set and hate the other.

To each his own but I like the new jersey, like I said before, it stays with in the classic ND look but it's different to a very small extent.

Maybe ND should concentrate more time into what goes INSIDE the jersey instead of what is on the outside...just a thought from a convicted ND troll.

Why put logos on the inside? Seems silly to me..

rock I guess I'll have to withhold judgment until I see them on some pads. But I'm not sold at the moment. The Willingham jerseys were sweet because of the clover; very subtle and awesome. If they took that Adidas logo off the shoulder and put it on the chest like Weis did, it'd be perfect.

Stanford's football series with Notre Dame may end after two more seasons.

Bob Bowlsby, Stanford's athletic director, said Thursday that the series is in jeopardy because of Notre Dame's insistence on playing no more than four road games a season.

Good. Fuck Stanford. This means that if Notre Dame were to join the Big Ten after the Big East implodes, Stanford is not a team they really care about continuing to play in my opinion.

Stanford played 8 home games last year and 4 road games. I guarantee if they don't continue the series with ND, they would fill the spot on the schedule with teams like Sacremento State and San Jose State and those games will be played on the Farm.

The problem is Adidas makes those calls and they'll get their way on where and how big of a logo they want on the jersey because of the almighty dollar.
