With the loss of Mich St, this puts OSU back in the running for a Big Ten title. Iowa has lost 4 of their last 5 and have only won one game on the road this year. I think OSU takes this game by 17 and Turner will get his usual double double and Id really like to see Lauderdale with a big game also.

It's a good thing Ohio State has forced 10 turnovers, they've scored 13 of their 32 half-time points off of turnovers. That's also 10 fewer 3-pointers Iowa could have shot. :(

Not great game, but not bad either. OSU did what they needed to do. Gets a little tougher now. Going to IU will NOT be easy. Then its off to Ill and then Purdue at home. If OSU can get by IU...the Ill/Purdue game could determine if OSU is able to win the big ten, or not.

BTW, Turner is just damn good. lol

It would be a nice double if the Bucks could take both the football and the basketball titles. Go Bucks!

Just when I thought Evan Turner couldn't impress any more, he does it. I think he's giving voters no choice but to pick him as POY, and I don't mean just the Big 10.

I agree 100% and I don't think its really close. There is no player in the country that is filling up the stat sheet like Turner on a nightly basis. If he keeps it up he will be the national POY.

was down at the Schott today...good solid game, though Thad didn't go very deep.
1. As said, vintage Turner game...excellent control of the game, such strong crossovers and ball movement; he is NBA-ready multi-tool player.
2. Diebler has looked better defensively the last few games. Could have put up 18-20 if some of his 2nd half 3's would have fallen.
3. I'm definitely not as familiar with the Hawkeyes, but Eric May impressed both inside and outside with some fine penetration, and knocking down some key 3's. This freshman may make some noise in the Big 10 over the next few years.
4. Iowa coach Lickliter's walk-on son is a little guy.
5. I think the Bucks can make a nice run in the tournement if Turner stays healthy and the key producers peak at the right time.

Not sure if Ohio State can make a run in the tournament. A lot depends on Lauderdale and foul trouble. Without him inside we have a hard time rebounding defensively. Towards the end of the game yesterday we couldn't get a rebound until finally Turner went inside and one handed a rebound for us. Lauderdale is the key (defensively).

Good point about Lauderdale. It's actually comical watching Madsen play, because he's just so overwhelmed physically. I appreciate his effort, but the guy can only do so much with his limitations.

Madsen actually played a pretty solid game yesterday IMO. And OSU, as a team played better with him in the game. Lauderdale's head was in the clouds yesterday with stupid fouls, although a couple were very questionable IMO.
But, as mentioned, if OSU wants to make any kind of run, especially vs a team with an athletic/big front line...Dallas has to be on the floor for defensive reasons. No question about it.

I'll never fault Madsen for his effort, because I think he gives his all. I just think that from an athetic and skill standpoint, he's just so overmatched. I respect him for his work ethic and being a team player, but I don't think OSU is nearly as good of a team as they are with Lauderdale, and that's not exactly a bold statement.

But as a coach, you can hide a lot of deficiencies (weakness on the boards) with someone like Turner who will just go get the ball no matter what.

I don't disagree with that dynasty. Just saying, yesterday, Madsen was better then Dallas. Dallas played 18 min, had 1 freaking rebound. Madsen played 22 min, had 4. Dallas had 2pts, both on FT. Madsen had 4pts, on 2 FG.
You give Deibler all kinds of grief for lack of rebounding/asst. Well, Dallas is 6'8", and gets 1 rb in 18 min? Absolutely NO excuse for that. He was bad yesterday. Maybe worst game of the year.
