Read he had a stroke and had to be put into a coma because of brain swelling. They said he came out of the coma but nothing after that. Anybody heard anything else? Love the way he gives his sons hell and they will come up and hug him right in the middle of the ass chewing!

Good guy but sooner or later the Kools and cases of red bull will catch up with you. On a side note I hope he doesn't leave it to his pos sons to run the boat.

One episode they were not having good luck, Phil was out on deck and said he could smell crab farts and pointed to the bubbles. They set their traps and hauled a good amount and their luck changed. It's not a "bad" sentence if you've seen the show.

RIP Capt. Phil. TMZ is reporting that he has sadly passed on. He was definitely one of my favorites from DC, and will certainly be missed by his crew.

That's sad. He was my favorite person on that series. I wonder how long it will take his sons to run that business into the ground.

I'd say his boys will keep it running..and I'm sure they will do fine with it since they know it was their dads baby. If they choose to stay in the business.

The gf and I have a drinking game we play to this program, as some of you may remember.

One part was having to drink everytime Capt. Phil was shown w/ a cigarette in his hand (and I swear he had a Marlboro surgically attached to his fingers...).

Needless to say, few were the episodes featuring Phil that we could remember the next day.

Rest in Peace, Captain...
