I've always like Noel as a coach. Before the Pens re-hired Bylsma, they were thinking of hiring him.

Melrose was horrible with a stacked roster in Los Angeles as well. Gretzky and Coffey were just exiting their prime, but he had guys like Luc Robitaille, Tony Granato, Kelly Hrudey, Jimmy Carson, etc all in their best years.
And for that, all they had to show was one SCF appearance (which shouldn't have been anyway after the Gretzky high stick on Gilmour).
