^^You doing the writing too? :) I didn't make it last night.

Good win...5-1 start is very encouraging. Feels like we're winning games that we might not have last year. Or maybe it's the feeling that we're going to find a way to win instead of lose....either way, I think attitudes and expectations are really starting to change, and obviously, the more wins, the easier that becomes.

Our next 2 are both on the road...this Friday at Clear Fork and next Friday at Lexington.

Fun team to watch. A lot of effort out there. Defensively this team gives anyone fits...we just need to have a couple kids get their stroke which will come in time. Much like the football season, I think this team improves a great deal by tourney time. Nice!

Writing? No way. I'm a wrestler. I got all kinds of flack for filling in as an announcer on occassion. Last nights win was without Pirman who has a minor strain and will be back soon. Turnovers were a problem last night, but there was no lack of effort.

24 turnover according to the paper....that's a few too many.

I was contacted by the powers that be at Orrviews...I'll cobble something together to go along with your masterpiece.

Yeah....the turnovers were very frustrating to watch. Add the JV game into that, too.

I want to say that, upon reflecting, I found myself mesmerized by the tenacious man to man D that we are playing (and I'm talking about US giving a team with the demographics of East, FITS!) BRF rates it as VERY good! If you were there, think back to how long it took East to get a bucket. Now, if we can start clicking on the O side, watch out!

"Cobble"? That's a good one. I might have to use that in my next "masterpiece" for the Old Rag! :D

Very interesting. I get what you're saying. It's one thing to lock down a team with not much athleticism, but it's another to hold your own against a team that is athletic and fast.

It's clear what Coach Sly is doing...defense comes first. On nights when your shots aren't falling, you can still play suffocating defense.

And the Old Rider is here.

I like our defense as well, but the TO's have to be minimized. Far too many against that good of a team, we squeeked that one out.

That's why I said "unofficial" when it comes from a JV cheerleader!

But I will give her a hug and tell her at least she got the WIN part right!

"Either way....it's a win".............true dat

This part of the "triumvirate" only deals with the "plagiarized" history of Orrville, not CURRENT sports! :D

Yes, my source said the attendance was very "light" from our part, with NO student section.

But that's how it goes these days.

Did anybody find a box score for this game?

Ask around if you know somebody who was on the team bus last night. The game was delayed a half hour because we were late. The railroad track lights were flashing on the Back WOOOSTER Road and and the driver wouldn't go across until a Sheriff's Deputy showed up to "escort" him over the tracks.

Not surprising no student section. Would you let your kid drive there, in those conditions? The problem with Clearfork is its like OU, there's no way to get there that's good. Way out around by 71 or across country that's up and down and slippery. You knew it wasn't going to be a great game and it was easy to stay home. Clearfork's 8th grade team isn't too, bad with some height and size. Clearfork is a lot like us, willing to take on larger schools in the hope of being tournament tested, but it is a little far away for us.

BRF, what are you looking for? There was a box score in the DR.
In summary:
Besc.-12
miller-2
Pirman-2
Bolyard-25
Groves-4 Corbett-2
Wasson 21
Hoobler -0
Rebs
Orr.31-[miller 12]
Clear-19

Assists Orr -16 Boly.4
Clear-6
Fouls Orr 14 Clear -12
Turns-Orr 12 Clear -16
Jv's Orr 63 -41

Seems we won the stats by a better margin than the score.
