Will his numbers go down joining the Cavs, probably but on any given night its nice to know that those numbers could be reached.
His contract isn't the greatest but Cleveland doesn't have room to make major moves outside of LeBron and Gilbert doesn't mind paying the luxury tax.

So Kobe should have kept his mouth shut and continued to waste his final years with Kwame Brown as his center and Smush Parker as his point guard???? you come on. LOLdevil1197 wrote: Exactly, and I don't even know why you are trying to compare Kobe and LeBron in this instance.
Until LeBron comes out in a video saying that "the Cavs should ship out JJ" while cussing up a storm this is a pointless argument. I am not trying to bash Kobe, but when you want to ask how this differs from LeBron come on lol.
When you (Lebron) push for a guy to your GM your basically saying you (Lebron) don't feel you (the Cavs) have the necessary pieces (your current teammates) to win it all.

^^^Yeah, but I think his minutes would go down because the Cavs are a deep team. I think they would want to have him at around 30 mins or so.

Kobe could have easily pushed for trades behind closed doors but he didn't and he acted immature. I would have no problem if Kobe was talking to Kup and Buss behind closed doors.

How do we even know that LeBron has made the push for Jamison, that is one report by some guy I have never heard of report on the Cavs.
There is absolutely no reason for this argument, keep trying to bring LeBron down with petty bs.
Until I hear him in a video cussing and wanting to ship out players then its all rumor.

The only Cavs trade I want is Jamison.
I don't think the other guys can make us any better than what we are now.

The difference is, Kobe made it a public affair because he is not good enough to carry a team on his own.
Lebron is doing this behind closed doors, which makes him not only the greatest player to ever play the game, but also one of the classiest.

Who gives a shit who throws who under a bus. It's obvious to us and the rest of the NBA that LeBron is the best teammate. Why else does he always win SI's poll of "which current NBA player would you most like to play with"?
Either way, I don't think we necessarily need a trade. I'd love Jamison, but I also think Iggy is still a player just because of Delonte West.

Cavaliers may not wait until deadline to make a trade decision: Cavaliers Insider
By Brian Windhorst, The Plain Dealer
February 02, 2010, 7:15PM
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Technically the NBA's trade deadline is February 18th at 3 p.m., which means there's 15 shopping days left.
But for the Cavaliers, who are one of the more active teams examining the market, that may not turn out to be the case. According to various league sources, the Cavs may compress their time schedule and make a decision on whether or not to make a trade by the start of next week's All-Star break.
As it is, the vibe the team has been giving in talks lately is that they are willing to make a deal, but do not feel it is necessary. Over the last two months, the front office has been in talks with various teams about good shooting forwards and good shooting guards with defensive skills.
With Mo Williams, Delonte West and Leon Powe all scheduled to return from injuries right at or shortly after the All-Star break, there's a feeling the Cavs want to make a move sooner rather than later to limit the turbulence to the roster with so many players coming back and roles changing.
The Cavs are usually quite conscious of team chemistry and consider it before making any move.
Part of the thinking may be the demanding schedule that comes after the current seven-game homestand. After getting a week off for All-Star festivities, the Cavs will play six games in nine days and all are against potential playoff teams. They will host the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Hornets and play at Charlotte, Orlando, Boston and Toronto.
Parker holding out hope: Anthony Parker hoped to hear from his agent with a final answer on the Three-Point Shootout Tuesday, but the call didn't come before the Cavs faced the Grizzlies. While Daniel Gibson, who started the week ranked first in the league in 3-point shooting, didn't think an invite was coming, the fifth-ranked Parker was holding out hope. The announcement on the participants is expected to be made Wednesday.
There have been reports that Channing Frye of the Suns and Danilo Gallinari of the Knicks have been invited. According to a source, the Suns' Steve Nash and the Celtics' Paul Pierce were given invites. But the field may not totally be set yet as Pierce suffered a foot injury Monday that may affect his status.
Jackson re-signs: With West still day-to-day with a fractured left ring finger, Cedric Jackson was signed to a second 10-day contract on Tuesday. Jackson hasn't gotten much playing time and hasn't even been able to show much in practice because the Cavs haven't had a full contact practice in the last 10 days. But the front office still seems intrigued with the former Cleveland State star.
"Danny [Ferry] likes him and likes what he saw when he played in the NBDL," coach Mike Brown said. "That has a lot to do with it."
Williams hurting: Jawad Williams has been battling a bout with back spasms over the last few days. He first felt them on Saturday night but played Sunday, scoring 12 points against the Clippers. Williams got treatment both Monday and Tuesday and is attempting to play through it, just as he's doing with a left thumb strain.
"You just rely on adrenaline to get through it," Williams said. "But after the game, I was feeling it."
Dribbles: Lakers center Andrew Bynum said he needed to get a root canal to repair damage to a tooth after taking an elbow from Shaquille O'Neal. ... Rob Kurz, who was cut from the Cavs in training camp, was named to the D-League All-Star roster. So was former Cav Dwayne Jones.
Any "under the table" crap like that would be cause for investigation by the league.
As for Jamison....I don't want him either. Anyone remember Larry Hughes? Anyone?
And all these unconfirmed "sources" are a crock in my book.
LeBron knows damn well that the Cavs can win the whole thing with the present cast of players.
If the Cavs could magically land a Chris Bosh...well then OK. But other than that, leave the damn team alone.

First off....there is no such thing as "free"...and my opinion, Jamison is a loser...similar to Vince Carter and Larry Hughes.HighRoller74 wrote: ^^^

A good example of Jamison being a loser...2 nights ago when the Wizz had the Celtics down for the count and blew it in the 4th quarter. Jamison "chipped in" with a 2 for 17 shooting night.
Check out the box score from Monday's game.. The Wizzards are horrible this year...and Jamison is one the of the major reasons why.

Everything that I hear on the radio is that Hickson will have to be dealt to get someone in here.
Question...
Is everyone ok with giving up on Hickson already? He isn't even 21 yrs old yet. I am not sure how I feel about losing him.....he seems to have a ton of upside.

First off, trading Z and then getting him back isn't a bunch of bull. Check the McDyess trade. The NBA knows what is going on and the Cavs will mention that they want Z to get bought out by adding money into the trade.
Secondly, you want to compare on game of Jamison's (2-17 night) to his season averages of 21 and 9?
Check out his player page of his averages
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=385
Even with reduced minutes he'll still produce. I won't even reply to you calling Jamison a lo.ser, the guy has been nothing but professional

As of now, yes teams that are dealing their best players are going to demand crazy things.wes_mantooth wrote: Everything that I hear on the radio is that Hickson will have to be dealt to get someone in here.

But once the day start to dwindle so will pieces of their demands.

I don't want to give up Hickson. He is getting better defensively, and he can rebound and finish around the rim. And whether LeBron leaves or stays, we are going to need some young players that contribute. You can't bring in free agents and trades every year. If we have to give up JJ to get Jamison, I am torn over whether I would want to do it. I would absolutely not include him in any deal for Murphy or Iguodala.

Yeah, Jamison is the only guy who I trade JJ for.
He is a proven player in the playoffs also. Right around and sometimes above his averages.
2004-2005 (CHI/MIA) 19 and 6
2005-2006 (Cavs) 19 and 7
2006-2007 (Cavs) 32 and 10
2007-2008 (Cavs) 17 and 12
Too bad they ran into Bron.

I think I agree with that, but I know that as soon as they trade him........Hickson will become an all star.....it is the life of a Cleveland fan!!
Also, I am still holding out for Bosh(I know it won't happen)....been waiting for him to become a Cav for going on 2 yrs now..lol

I would include JJ in a trade for Jamison without even thinking about it. JJ has shown alot of potential but Antawn Jamison is the better player right now. I cant think of a sinle thing that JJ Hickson does better then Jamison. You add Jamison to this roster and the Cavs are a better team. Its not a knock on JJ, Jamison just brings more to the table. I understand that Jamison might handcuff the Cavs chances of signing another star next year but lets be serious, they werent going to be able to afford a Bosh, Wade or Amare anyways. If Z wasnt bought out then I dont pull the trigger.
According to Windhorst the Cavs might need to bring in a 3rd team to add Jamison. He mentioned Houston and Tmac

Can anyone on here talk me into why Iggy would be a good trade for Cleveland?
RCF is pro Iggy but I cannot fathom that trade.

No idea. Never been a fan of his game.....he isn't even a 2nd tier star IMO.
He is one that I would take for free, but not much more.
