"Retarded" to describe Liberal activists …

Seems the Democrat enjoy name calling and stereotyping people and groups. But should Rahm Emanuel Obama Chief of staff be given a pass on this one also? Harry Reid got his freebie last week and approval from the NAACP.

What about it Liberals and parents, individual and the medical community that deal with individual that suffer from developmental disabilities ……. You Ok with this also?

Not fan of Rahm, but firing him is a bit much for a slip of the tongue.

Can't wait for the "if this was a republican, all hell would break loose" comments.

And, Belly, i don't think you can call anyone out, given past history, for using a poor choice in words.

Not "lose his job" bad....but a very hurtful use of a word well past it's place in the common language.

This is the 2nd time this administration has had to place a call to the director of the Special Olympics to apologize.

It's akin to the use of the N-word...but somehow not nearly as frowned upon.

I'm not the Senate House Leader or the Chief of Staff ......yet
As for poor word choice Yes I’m guilty at times of poor or improper written wording. Note this is and Harry Reid are verbal phrasing. No wiggle room.
Calling someone out ...that to was explained and misinterpreted of the objective I was attending to achieve.
But I’m not the issue at hand so let stick to the topic.
Oh! One other thing …….I can call out anyone who I feel like ……If wrong I will admit it, if right i will stand by it

As many of you Left Wing/ Socialist / Liberal like to divert the issue to something else to avoid answering anything, lets stay on track with this issue/thread.
Can't wait for the "if this was a republican, all hell would break loose" comments.
So cbus4life are you saying that this comment by the Chief of Staff should be a quick apology and as quickly forgotten?
Are you also suggesting that the media, public and special interest group now lower their standard and the standard that was upheld in the past for the Democrats in Office or for the populous in general?

Not a firing offense. He's the gift that keeps giving anyway. Leave him be.

No, i'm not saying it should be forgotten, or anything of the like. I despise the comment.

Just was saying that this will soon turn into a "if this were a republican, the media would ruin his political career" orgy for the right-wing folks on here. :D

I do find it funny, the amount of verbal gaffes the administration has had. Many not even coming from Joe Biden!

From what I have read, offensive and colorful language is not out of character for Rahm Emanuel.

The PC police are out in force. Was Rahm using the word "retard" to disparage the developmentally disabled? Adults can discern from the context the intended meaning of the word retard. Shouldn't we have the same reactions to the word nuts, crazy, loon, kook, physco, circus freak, etc. Are we disparaging the mentally handicapped or those born with birth defects? Are we so looney (oh no) that we should demand someone should lose their job because they used one of these words in a sentence with obviously no intent to disparage some helpless group. The only reason Rahm should lose his job is because he is an imbecile (oh no, I did it again).

Didn't this happen in 2009? And didn't he already apologize to the disabled/handicapped community?

Sarcasm? :D

Articles i've been reading say August, 2009. :D

Just saying that i think he already dealt with it, poor choice of words, and he apologized to the handicapped community.

Not excusing anything, but this is old, old news.

I know.

Just don't know what else can be said.

Poor choice of words, regrettable, he apologized, the end. Nothing new.

Good point. I expected Biden to be BHO's Gaffe Lightning Rod but Obama has done an excellent job of surrounding himself with twits and morons who readily contribute to the cause.

You just did it now, believer. You better go appologize to your local board of mental retardation.
