My roommate, who is a huge Cavs fan, and I had that conversation alot this past summer. If LeBron thinks or knows he wants to come back why doesn't/didn't he sign? He killed their chances of getting Trevor Ariza (or any other key free agent), I remember Ariza saying he wasn't sure that LeBron was sticking around...

I do kind of think he will end up staying, but those who honestly think that Cleveland is a more desirable location than alot of other places, is dreaming. If I was LeBron I would seriously give either Miami or Orlando a strong look. He could be playing with another superstar and his income wouldn't be taxed in Florida. And I haven't even mentioned the weather yet.

They show Lebron because he's Lebron -- where he lives is meaningless. He tried to make it sound like they show the maximum number of CLEVELAND games vs. some other city as proof they have nothing against Cleveland.

Sports media are no different than any other media in this country. Those in the big cities like NY think they are smarter than the rest of the country, and can't imagine anyone challenging their views. It's a form of media elitism that's been around for ages.

Having resided on the east coast/NYC metro area this is very, very true. They call it fly-over-country with no small amount of reverence or disdain.

I'm a huge cavs fan and obviously I want Lebron to stay, but even if he left...it wouldn't be the end of the cavs. The east is pretty weak, they'd still probably have a playoff caliber team, and with the money left from not signing him, couldn't they go out and sign a pretty big name FA? Clearly they'd be much better off with him, but it's not like they're goin to turn it into a parking lot if he leaves. Don't really understand the fans hysteria about him possibly leaving. I was a fan back watchin Ehlo gettin owned by Jordan all the way up til now, doubt anything will change if he leaves.

I won't be surprised either way if he leaves or stays. I don't care much for what anyone on ESPN has to say but he is right when he says Cleveland fans are defensive about Lebron leaving because pretty much every Cav fan thinks he will stay. He has plenty of reasons to stay in Cleveland (started career here, from Akron, wants to win a title for Cleveland) and reasons to leave (bigger market, potential to play with another big star, better chance at a title perhaps). He will do what he thinks is best for his career and no one knows what he will do until then.

Totally agree...also gotta hand it to Lebron and the media for the most part. A couple months ago he said he wasn't going to answer any more questions about Free Agency until after the season...and as far as I know, I haven't heard him say anything more or the media ask him about it anymore either.

Life will go on....but it would be a lot nicer if the GOAT stayed in Cleveland. And he is the greatest of all time, period.

There will be 2 celebrations in Cleveland this summer. When the nets get snipped and the trophy raised....and then the press conference where LBJ announces a new 5 year deal.
