Assuming that the Big 10 add Pitt (or any other team), will the change the name of the conference? If they do change the name, what are some ides you would like to see thorwn around?

They've already said (I believe) that even after adding another team the conference title will still be the Big 10

They'll never change the name. Will always be Big Ten no matter how many teams.

Since Big 10 is synonymous with Academic excellence, Athletic dominance and Revenue surplus...


I doubt it will change, regardless of the number of members.

I don't doubt it, but that's just stupid IMO.

I do think that would cause problems for the big10 network though.

It will remain the Big 10 because every year in every sport there are two teams in the league who shouldn't be because they can't compete.

As others said it will remain the Big 10. I wouldn't be surprised if at the announcement the conference officials lay out 10 common traits each school shares academically/athletically that will constitute them keeping the name.
