I purchased a Genesis off EBAY not that long ago.

I am looking at a game now with the Mega Drive logo on the front of the package.

Is there a difference in games and could I play it on the Genesis?

Mega Drive is what the Genesis was called in Japan and (I think) Europe, but I honestly don't know if there's any difference in hardware. I know there is for the more modern systems, as I've heard people talk about needing a modded system to play Japanese imports...but don't know if it was the same way for the 8/16-bit generations.

I think you should be fine as long as it isn't the PAL version of the game.
