Teams have met in the state final 4 in basketball, but never in football.
I've heard Tiffin (Frost-Kalnow) for this matchup....can anyone confirm?

Good luck Riders!!!
Tiffin makes sense as there are only a few choices. Ashland will most likely host Bucyrus Wynford/Norwalk St. Paul.. Fremont would be the other possiblity.. If Arlin had fieldturf I'd LOVE to see it there.

What do we know about O-G? I think they have a spread offense. They played Triway in their first game. Talked to some Triway fans and they thought we would match up well.

VERY early weather report says sunny high of 54 on Saturday....that's downright balmy for the 3rd Saturday in November.
So will everyone watch OSU/Mich then make the drive?? Gonna be a busy football day.
Info, Map and Pic of the stadium are up at my blog...including one very nice picture from last night's game.

Orrville folk's can look forward to a nice bunch of people from OG. I've never had anything but good impressions from the folks in OG.

you mean we wont hear about how we're losing by 3 TD's + and how we're not worthy of the same field? I was hoping to hear about how OG kicks field goals on 1st down to hold the score down.
That's too bad because i think that kind of talk motivated the team all last week.
I'm looking forward to a good week of talk and a great game to decide the region. sounds like both teams are peaking right now. should be a dandy.

Not exactly the "video game" numbers that Genoa had, but I'm not fooled...teams dont make it to week 13 without being special.

OG's option ate up Eastwood last night because it looks like the Eagles were in 5-3 front playing a man to man behind it. Eastwood tried to take the pitch with one of the inside backers. So OG would run off the split, then run run a counter option back to the weak side. The counter action held the backers long enough for the pitch back to get out on space with the LB not getting there in near enough time. Two lessons learned: 1.) Playing a man vs option can cause some problems for the defense. 2) Good luck trying to cover pitch by attacking from inside out, especially when the back is a lot faster than the defender.

Interesting article from the Blanchard River Buzz:
http://thecourier.typepad.com/blanchard_river_buzz/2009/11/kahle-leads-ogs-rout-of-eastwood.
Although at the end of the article it said Eastwood beat Genoa, that must have been a mistake.

What a great game Orrville played Saturday! I kind of like the underdog status because the Riders always come to play. I don't see us playing that role this week though. O-G will want revenge from that Bball state final. I remember it well. What a come back! Jump out early again and never let up. Remain focused after the long bus ride! No stadium alittle more equal driving distance? I knew we were going to be traveling this week, but 2+ hours. Ouch. Can't complain too much, Ashland last week! I know Region 14!
