What this the estimated highest height you have fallen (not jumped) from as a direct drop to the ground or floor or whatever?

In college I did some roofing for a summer job (hated it). It was a two story home but the roof was a walker (roof less than 8/12 pitch). I rolled off the second story roof landed on the little overhang of the first story rolled off that and landed in the grass 10 feet from the house. I would estimate that the fall from the first story was about 15 feet. I gave up roofing a few weeks later for ever.

fell through my ceiling into the kitchen. approximated 13 feet. hurt a lot and i totally fucked up the ceiling.

Was it the fall that hurt or the sudden stop that created the pain.

When wiring a barn when I was 16, I fell off one of the roof joists. not sure how tall it was but my guess is 15- 20 feet. Hurt like a motherfucker.

Missed the entire Pit Pole Valulting in HS Came down head first from about 13-14 ft stuck my arm out to break my fall and luckily only broke my wrist. In college had my pole break while i was up side down about 12 ft off the ground and landed on my back was pretty fuckin sore for about 2 weeks , 30 years later it still hurts during the winter.

what hurt the most was bouncin off of the trusses on the way through. i landed softly (considering the possibilities) in the kitchen. My wife saved a chunk of the drywall from the hole as a memento of that great night.

I did some pole vaulting also in high school, around 1967 one of the first to use fiberglass pole. Had one snap on me in 1968 at the Akron Hoban Inv. saw a kid pole snap and slid up his arm (not pretty)

Glad to see another pole vaulter....Ever hit the up-right on the way down. When I first started pole vaulting the pit was full of saw dust now that hurt quickly the school got large bags of carpet foam.

PV in HS 74-76 and in college a few years. As i look back had to be Crazy. Hit the uprights several times those pits filled with foam incased by nylon would just rip scabs off in a NY minute. And the fiberglass poles were pretty dangerous especially when you were trying out a new one and did know A) how far or which way it was going to throw you or B) If it could support your weight and possibly snap in 2 impaling you.
The Catholic league and City Leagues here in C-Bus has outlawed PV in HS . Too risky
After 2 local kids about 12-15 years go were killed when there poles broke and both were impaled ,not good.

Probably about 30 feet into the Cumberland River when I was in college - thank God the water and current were low. Took a short-cut across a railroad bridge - halfway across when a train popped around the curve at the other end. We thought that we had a better chance of swimming ashore than being ground into roadkill.

wow - but that's really a jump! The worst I can remember is going up for a dunk and slipped on a water puddle. I came down on my wrist and fractured it. That's a fall of no more than 3 feet.
