Watching PTI and across the bottom line comes a statement about Tebow that he has been hospitalized with strep throat and a temperature of 103. Are you kidding me??????????????????????

Hmmm

Meyer hospitalized after getting stomped by Bama

Tebow hospitalized after looking like a 5th rounder at the SB practices.

Okay, I'm no Tebow apologist here, but strep throat is a very serious illness. Strep can get into the bloodstream and be fatal, and a 103 fever in a grownup (even a young healthy one) is nothing to sneeze at (pun intended).

I'm as sick as the next person of all the Tebow stuff in the media, but this is a legit news (sports) story.

LMAO.......crying? This is laughable, just like the Urban Meyer thread. Really, you guys are up in arms because ESPN rolled across their ticker that Tebow became ill.........even better, it's hysterical! Did you guys get this pissed when ESPN reported every hour for two weeks about Beannie Wells' foot injury before the USC game a couple years ago?

writer I have had strep, my kids have had strep, my aquaintences have had strep and NOT ONE has required hospitalization...NOT ONE.

Newsworthy? I guess, but it never has been where I come from.

Seeing as Beanie Wells was hardly in the news compared to Tim Tebow, it's like comparing apples to oranges. You'd need to compare the coverage Tebow got a player who got a ton of coverage like Tyler Hansborough or JJ Redick.

When ESPN continually reports about one guy, or team over and over again, it gets a little annoying.

I remember when Tebow got hurt this year, ESPN broke in like the President had just gotten shot, and covered it as such.

I wish the best for Tebow in this illness, and in life as I've never said a bad thing about Tebow as I respect him as a man and a player, but the over the top coverage he gets is just insane.

Then do what I do, turn the channel for a couple of minutes and then go back.

Oh I agree, just making the point, that's why so many people get tired of certain athletes, and sadly it's not just ESPN, all news agencies are like that.

FWIW, McShay said that Tebow has been playing better in the past day or 2, but he still says he isn't great. His accuracy is McShay's biggest beef as of now

Let's be honest, Tim Tebow will be selling cars in 3 years. Or playing God, whichever is more dignified.

Good for you. Glad everyone did well.

That doesn't discount anything I wrote.

Group A strep infections are considered an emerging disease and a growing problem in this country. Group A can range from mild strep disease like you described (about 2 million of those each year) to more invasive kinds that kill several thousand annually.

What's concerning is that the numbers are growing and scientists don't really know why. Factor in our misuse of antibiotics and resistant strains of strep and other bacteria, and you have THE POSSIBILITY anytime someone gets even a mild infection, of something more more lethal developing.

Also, a 103 fever isn't common in a mild case of strep. Since you have kids I guess you understand that if someone happens to get dehydrated while having such a fever, it can become dangerous. That's why they put people in the hospital.

Sorry to go on, but my years at the state health department provided a lot of this type of information.

I'm Pro-Choice and I don't like Tebow and his mother. I wish they would both stuff it.

In the old days, if you didn't like what someone on TV was saying, you would have to get up, walk all the way across your family or living room and manually turn the set to another channel, or turn it off. Today we have these devices known as remote controls that allow us to click away the annoyances in our lives and if too much Tebow is getting to you, click to another channel.

hey rock--worry about your own pathetic team, and stop trying to defend Meyer and Tebow every time a thread is posted...you should take your own advice and "turn the channel(thread) for a couple of minutes and then go back"when you see a post regarding these two jokers

How about you worry about your pathetic life! I'm told all the time that the discussion is open when puss like yourself invade an ND thread.

BTW, show me where I've defended these guys? My point is these threads about Tebow and Meyer are ridiculous and quite laughable. Someone's pissed because ESPN rolled that Tebow is sick and this "Meyer lied about his health for attention" garbage is stupid. Maybe you should take your own advice and worry about the Buckeyes and how they are going beat an SEC team if they reach the BCS title game this year.

Again, what does ND have to do with this topic. You have to grasp at straws because you know I'm right.
