This topic has been blowing up over on preps. I can't believe that the coach for Waterford is such a jerk and let this happen. The coach played the starters time in all four quarters!!!!

Coach should be fined or something that is terrible.

This is in a girls game by the way. Southern didn't even have enough to play a full jv game so they wanted to play two quarter with their jv but Waterford scheduled a full jv game for their team. The last time these two met it was a blowout as well the coach knew that the jv kids would play alot and still set up a jv game with a totally different school.

Was this a girls game? Because waterford's boys aren't that good.

Some dude called in the Dan Patrick show and was talking about this as well. I have no problem with the margin of victory if it is done by the scrubs. To keep starters in during games like this is crazy. I would have my starters play the first half but if I was killing them at half and it was out of reach they would sit the rest of the way!!

They were half court trapping and double teaming IN THE FOURTH QUARTER. It's classless. What if their precious div. 1 player got hurt because she was playing in the 4th.

When I was a journalist, I had to cover a few of their games

They played Southern and put up 76 in the first half, and called off the dogs.
Not sure why they played it out this time around.

Also, it is funny. Waterford fans love it when they run it up, but when Africentric beats them at state by 40 they whine that the Nubians are running it up.

The only coaching sage does is telling his team what to do on madden.

Winners can win with class. Not crush a team that know you are better than. That game accomplished nothing except making that guy look like a dick.

I would have to bet that Sage and the Waterford coach both wear neckties. To keep the foreskin from rolling up over their heads.

The one misleading thing about the starters playing all four quarters is that they only played the first few minutes of each quarter. If you add up the minutes, they still played less than half of a game. Regarding the "precious" DI player, she played three minutes in the 3rd quarter and two minutes in the 4th, but I'd like to know when people started playing scared of getting hurt in a basketball game.

I'm not going to defend the score entirely, but should the starters have just sat the rest of the game after it was 20-2 halfway thru the 1st quarter?

I'd also like to know if the right thing to do would have been to not contest any passes or not take any shots? I don't see the value in a game if you aren't actually playing the game. As much as it sucks, they didn't sign up to have a consolidated practice where Waterford works only on dribbling and passing and Southern practices shooting.

They didn't need to be in the game at all once it got to a certain point.

How about pass 5 times before you shoot?

Or maybe not pressing or trapping in the FOURTH QUARTER.
