Well answer my question, who do you want?
I already gave you two names that are accomplishing more in college football right now than Tressel with less talent in Brian Kelly and Chris Peterson, both of whom you dismissed with a "how pathetic" response with little justification.

I had 2 problems today...

#1 was not going for it on 4th and short

#2 was the HORRIBLE clock management at the end of the game.

If you please I want one name (I don't care if it is Peterson, Kelly or someone else), I want to see who you'd fire Tressel for.

I thought it was pretty clear that he thinks Peterson or Kelly would suffice.

Personally. . . I love Tressel. I don't want to see him go. But I do want to see a new offensive coordinator.

If Ohio St. fired Tressel and hired Peterson, they would be the laughingstock in the history of sports Quint, I'll let trep answer though.

Brian Kelly. This is dumb though, I'm not sure why you are so intent on this topic.

You'd fire Tressel for Kelly...fair enough. Thanks.

Wow, I step away to practice a little, and the joint goes crazy.

A win is a win, and we wrapped up the Big Ten title for 5 in a row. Not too shabby with a conservative coach, and a stiff at QB. Let's not play this way next week in Ann Arbor, or we may see an "L" in the column.

Did you remind yourself of those "fucking" 3 BCS wins and that national championship and those precious big ten titles while OSU was getting plastered by Florida? Getting destroyed by LSU? Getting completely owned at USC? Watching Tressels pathetic clock management against Texas?

The beginning of the past decade was great. Tressel was doing his impression of a competent football coach and fans loved it. But its not 2006 anymore. Until that Florida game, I don't think you could have had a conversation with a college football fan about the best coaches in college football and Tressels name not being the first or second name mentioned. But he has completely lost it since then, and its not looking like he is going to find it as the game continues to change. Talent is more spread out...offenses are more diverse...Its harder to depend on special teams and defense to win you games against teams that have comparable talent. youve seen the results.

By the way, Oregon has the ugliest uniforms of all time. Those little duck wings on them make me want to hurl.
Best post in the thread. +1.

Love the attacks on people's virginity. Classy Manhattan.

OSU won the big ten tittle 5 years in a row. Go ahead and run JT out of town. GO BLUE!!!.

I thought OSU would win this game big but the freshmen QB played really well for Iowa and he kept them in the game. But there overall talent showed when they dropped all those important passes. That is what happens when you play a team who recruits 4 and 5 stars and you only get 3 stars with the occasional 4 star in there.

I don't think anybody "seriously" wants Tress fired. I think people just get frustrated with his lack of imagination on offense. It is going to catch up with them sooner or later. It did against USC. The "let's wait for the bozos on the other side to screw up, while we play as conservative as possible on offense" strategy will only work consistently in the turd of the conference that is the Big 10

You'd know it jordo....how stupid do you think this thread would be on any other college (team) football forum? They are laughing at you guys....fucking USC LOST today. Do you think people in LA are trying to fire Carroll? You guys really want Brian Kelly over Tressel? If so, have at it....OSU is a public university and their phone numbers are publicly available.

Jesus, I hate being an OSU fan at times, like this.

WE JUST WON THE BIG 10 YOU LOSERS!

Did I say I wanted Brian Kelly as head coach? Nope.

You bring up USC and their loss to Stanford. You just made my point. USC is not a great football team by any stretch of the imagination. The game was won, for all intents and purposes, and then OSU snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Once again, I have never said Tress needs fired. I have maintained over and over again, that winning the Big 10 5 yrs in a row is really something. But let's be logical about this. Ohio State is a great team. The rest of the conference is completely inept and so inconsistent with fielding quality teams.

The point I've made is that the strategy of playing for FGs, sucking on offense, and playing good defense will only win you the Big 10. If this team had any kind of offense/play calling, they'd be undefeated and they most certainly wouldn't get their doors blown off annually in the bowl game

You folks are nuts.

JT had NOTHING to do with (1) allowing a 100 yard kickoff return just as you've taken command of the game; (2) an offsides penalty that negated a pick 6 TD that would have clinched the win; (3) a keystone kops defense of Iowa's WR when Chekwa or Rolle should have had an INT and instead the WR grabbed the ball, leading to Iowa's tying TD.

This was a series of bizarre and bad plays by Ohio State that kept Iowa in this football game. JT played it exactly right by rushing for more than 200 yards against a defense that simply didn't give up that kind of rushing yardage. He has an injured QB who can't run as much as he'd like, so he had to do other things, and he did.

While I am not happy with a very conservative offense most of the time, going for that 4th down would have been DUMB. JT played the percentages and, as usually happens, it worked out right.

All that said, the ONLY reason this game was close was because of PLAYER mistakes; it had nothing to do with JT's offense.

I'm not complaining of the close score. . . or the 4th down call (I thought it was the wrong time and place to go for it). However, I am concerned with his inability to mix up some of the plays. He shows no creativity. Herron had 32 carries for 97 yards. Pryor was 14 for 17 passing. . . there were several times a pass or play action could have been mixed in with the runs up the middle.

one a bunch of boobs,
Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illiniosis, Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue, Penn State, all would love to be in the same position. All schools trying to recruit physcially gifted young men to invest four or more years of their lives into well funded rust belt institutions with strong athletic traditions and who does better in this particular circumstance year after year why its Mr. Tressel. I would think you would want to thank him, but no. Ingratitude is such a repellant characteristic, but so prevalent here.

Man oh man is the game at Iowa gonna be another war next year. They only lose two linebackers off that defense, and their offense has all the key folks back as well.

Games at Iowa and at Wisconsin will decide the Big Ten title.

What an elitist asshole. (MB)

Do you not understand how poor the Big Ten has been the past few years? Not to mention the fact that Tressel has admitted he has never had anything to do with the defensive playcalling. What the hell is he doing? He is out of date. He is incredibly lucky that he does not have a formidable opponent to play (i.e., this year Stanford, Oregon, Cal, etc.). Sorry to say, but OSU would have multiple losses in the PAC-10, any objective OSU fan would agree.

Winning the Big 10 just doesn't have the "umph" as what it used to. There is no denying that.

I am very excited to see my Bucks back in Pasadena for the first time in 13 years. But I still want to beat the snot out of Michigan because it will mean an "outright" Big 10 title even though the game means nothing interms of our bowl destination.
