I think Oregon's in trouble. the only way they'll get in is if they win out, and I can't see that happening with Arizona and Oregon State, 2 of the 4 best teams in their conference, still left to play. My money is on Stanford, because as I said before, I think Oregon beat Oregon State, but will lose a close one to Arizona. They've already beaten USC and Oregon, whereas the other two teams (Oregon and Arizona) are getting into a mess the next few weeks of all playing and beating tough teams.
Yeah, I think your post is what got me interested in how it could play out. On the surface, Stanford may need the most to happen, but they also only have to get through one more game. The way this conference is playing out, not playing is probably the biggest advantage. Of course, Cal isn't going to be a pushover for them.

Another crazy scenario is that it could actually end up as a six way tie for 1st. I haven't done the math on who would win that, but there's only one legitimate "upset" that would have to happen for that (Wash St over Ore St):

Oregon loses to Arizona and Oregon State
Stanford loses to Cal
Arizona loses to USC
Oregon State loses to Washington State

If those four teams plus Cal and USC win their other games, all six would end up 6-3.

Texas was over by halftime last year? Wasn't OSU leading most of that game? What about against Texas A&M in '98, Miami in '02, KSU in '03 and Notre Dame in '05? Were those all over by halftime? OSU is 4-3 in BCS games, only being beaten in 2 of them convincingly. Your post makes no sense.

You don't see the Ducks winning out? Or you do? Your sentence makes it seem like you think one of those 2 will beat Oregon.
Oregon State has also been a hot football team as of late. I could see the Beavers knocking off the Ducks.

No matter who we play. Tressel will have to open up the playbook, or OSU will get shitstomped in the Rose Bowl.

When I was a kid, the ultimate goal of every Big Ten Team was to play in Pasadena on January 1st. I loved those bygone days when the Big Ten could go and compete with anyone and win their share and sometimes even more than their share. Consequently, I'm very pleased that the Bucks will be making the trek West for that January 1st game. I think that the previous poster is correct in saying that Coach Tressel will have to be willing to "open up the play book" in order to win the game. I still think that the Bucks can run the ball successfully against any of those possible opponents, but there need to be a few new wrinkles to keep the West Coast teams off balance defensively. I guess what i'm saying is that we can't be predictable and win. Do I think Coach Tressel is aware of that? Does a bear excrete in the woods? Of course Coach Tressel knows that and he will have the Bucks ready to win the game. Go Bucks.

OSU fans are delusional so that causes your post to not make sense? That makes even less sense.

Please explain your post. Out of the 7 BCS bowls OSU has played in, which ones were over at half time? Besides Florida and LSU, OSU was in everyone and won 4 of them. You said they get blown out in every BCS bowl and are out of it at halftime. Really? Explain.

random side note:

If/when Oklahoma and USC both miss out on the BCS this year, Ohio State will become the first school to play in 8 BCS bowl games.

as of now all 3 have played in 7

Also, our defense won't be bad. We don't rebuild here, we reload.

I'd love to go, but I'm on call. DAMMIT.

I like OSU if the game were 2 weeks after the Michigan Game, I'm a beleiver that the 6 week layoff big ten teams have before the bowls affect them.
