tclfan- I ask myself the same question. IMO they dont have really any other spectacular hitters in their lineup. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that with less than 2 runners on you throw up the four when Rolf's up. Even though I have seen his RBI count is very high so he must be coming up with guys on. Kid can rake though.

There are some very good arms in the league though. But I dont think coaches in the SLL will allow their pitchers to throw to him much, I see his numbers slowing up in the next couple weeks.

Royal K-What is Elmwood's record? I looked on the sentinel's website and it had them at 3-2 after beating NB on I believe Friday. Lake is at 7-1, Eastwood at 7-0, I know Genoa has lost to Ottawa Hills, Clay and BG but every other score ive seen they have won, Otsego I think is around 5-2 they swept a DH on Saturday and Gburg is doing well for themselves too, most of the scores ive seen for them were wins.

Royal, I assume you went to the game? Did Elmwood pitch to Rolf or pitch around him? I figure he probably is done seeing anything to hit for a long while.

Actually I couldn't make it out to this game. But I did here that they pitched to him and he had 2 of the teams 6 hits.

The SLL looks like it will be a three team race if Lake cant put a couple wins together. Elmwood seems to be playing some good ball, as is Eastwood and Genoa seems to be able to win the close ones.

Whats the story so far in the NLL. It looks as is if it will come down to Maumee and Southview with Pburg and AW not too far behind.

Pretty good write up on the game in the Sentinel. Big match up tomorrow at Carter Park with Eastwood and Elmwood going at it.

Nice article. Varty is really pitching well for a soph.

Might have to visit Carter tomorrow. Should be a good one.

sounds like the battle of the woods had a great high school baseball atmosphere.

also Lake beat Genoa in 9 last night with Hotmer picking up the win in relief. Sophomore Ryan Kohlhofer had a big day with a huge 3 run home run and 2 more hits.

And don't forget the dramatic play by Genoa's second baseman in the third inning. One run makes a huge difference in those games.

And just to be accurate, Kohlhofer hit a 2 run dinger to tie it.

No conversation of Lake beating Eatwood on Monday.?

The Eastwood posters are still trying to figure it out.? How can that happen?

what was the dramatic play. very true about one run making a difference in games like those. It is very hard to believe that a team that has the big two like Genoa has can be a .500 team or barely above though.

I dont think there are any Eastwood posters aboard though. Sounds like Brandon Maze threw a gem though, Lake seems to be playing well at the right time, hopefully they can keep it up for the next few weeks

looks like Coach Mouch has achieved what he was going for with SJJ back in '07, only this time he's got kids (and parents) who have bought into the "team first" concept--it's amazing what can be accomplished when everyone's working together and not more concerned with their own agendas...congrats and continued success to the Cougars.

Elmwood won at Lake yesterday 12-10.

This clinches at least a tie for the SLL for the Royals. (19-3 9-0 SLL)

Chamberlain with a big go ahead HR.
