Theres a reason your conference isn't included in the BCS: cuz you could never face the level of competition week in and week out that the BCS schools do and survive without losing 3-4 games a year. Enjoy your January trip to a warm weather location and quit whining, you should be playing in Chattanooga in mid-December.

Yeah, my team would be good too if I only had to get my team up for 1-2 games a season. The OSU's, Floridas, Alabamas, Notre Dames of the world have to be at the top of their game every week or they may lose (see OSU vs. Purdue). Meanwhile we're supposed to applaud the non-BCS schools for winning bowl games vs BCS schools cuz they coasted through their regular season without breaking a sweat and therefore rolled into January healthy as a horse.

And no, Boise State didn't beat Oklahoma this year, and it wouldn't really be saying much if they did. Oklahoma is wayyyyy down this year.

No they beat a #14 Oregon. You are thinking of BYU. They beat #3 Oklahoma. Boise St. beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl 3 seasons ago.

I actually would like to see a mid major make the MNC game. Then when they get slaughtered, we won't ever have to hear about their consideration again.

I don't know about the Pac 10 specifically, but the Mountain West is 5-9 against the big six this year. The WAC (Boise's conference) is something like 2-15.

I hope they both win out but if not I will be happy if Boise State does.

I think TCU would beat Florida.

I want Cinci, Alabama, Texas, BSU, and TCU to all be undefeated at the end of the system. It'd build more resentment towards the current system and add more firepower to Utah's cause to get us a playoff.

I think you need a year with many big time programs undefeated. If your case plays out, there will be some complaining, but not much since it will end up being Bama/Texas in the championship. The other schools just don't have the power to force a playoff.

Maybe the teams that are supposed to be the "best" teams in college football shouldn't lose to teams they should beat.

If you think it's dumb that 10-0 mid majors complain they get no respect, then you realize that's it's equally dumb that a team that loses a couple games wants to still be ranked higher and say they're "better" than the undefeated team. Maybe you shouldn't lose. Football is all about wins and losses. Guess what? Florida hasn't beaten ANYBODY yet either. My high school has a better offense than LSU, and that's their Marquee win so far? Wow. Since you acknowledged above that Oklahoma is way down this year, then Texas' best win was beating Oklahoma State...who lost to...you guessed it; a mid-major. And not even Boise or TCU. They lost to Houston.

Perhaps you haven't watched either play this year, because they're so "inferior"? TCU has a top 10 defense NATIONALLY almost every year. This year, they have offense to go with it. They held Clemson to TEN points, and Clemson turned around and dropped 40+ on a pretty athletic Miami defense a few weeks later. I've watched all the top 10 teams play at least 2 games this year, and I haven't seen anyone that I don't think TCU or Boise State could hang with. Nobody has been overly impressive, dominant, or consistent. Texas is looking the best the past few weeks of the bigger schools in the top 5, but you have to wonder how down the big12 is this year, and the competition they're playing. TCU would finish in the Top 3 in the Big12 this year, and their defense would keep them in the game against Florida or Alabama. They'll be tough to beat for whoever they play, in whatever bowl game they get into. Mark it down.

TCU is the real deal. Mid-Major conference teams are usually associated with a lack of defense, but that is just not the case with TCU. They have one of the best defenses is the nation.

I saw TCU play at death valley this season. They are very very very good defensively. Great team.

You failed to see my point, can they compete with any team on any given day? Sure. But week in and week out they can't keep up that intensity, and THATS what makes all their whining ridiculous. College football has always been about playing at the highest level from week 1 thru the bowl game. Not beating crap competition AND 1 good team and then getting to compete for a title. Not the way it works.

The team I saw could compete against anyone week to week. You have to see them live to understand. I believed what you did before I saw their defensive intensity live.

The best thing these teams could do is move boise into the mwc and try to get the big least bid for the orange bowl do that and you have 4 programs that are better then anything in the big least

You mean the "Big Least" that is currently ranked higher than the Big10? Wonder what that says about that conference.

But if Boise did join the MWC it would be a super conference. Those are 4 great teams that have consistently played at a high level and won BCS bowls.

It's difficult to go undefeated regardless of the schedule, but yes, they would have just as good of a shot in the awful Big10 as they do in the Big East.

Not including last nights game, UC has the 67th ranked schedule in the country. OSU has the 46th. UC still has to play Pitt and Illinois so it is going to rise even more.

So your claims that the Big East is inferior, and UC has an awful schedule, aren't true when you look at the facts.

Looking at the facts I would rather play WVU, USF, and Pitt. Instead of PSU, Iowa, Wisconsin. Very few people beside you and mark may would disagree with me that the big10 is overal tougher then the big east. Im not bashing UC i'm all about them going undefeated and making it to the nc possibly (big12/sec champ game I should say) but just be serious for a second. What other bcs conf. would UC be 10-0 in right now?

I can't say if they would be 10-0 in any other conferences. Going undefeated is more about luck than actual talent level.

I just provided the SOS of UC and OSU, so I don't understand the argument that they haven't played anyone.

You can rather play those teams, but it doesn't make them better this year. Most of the hype surrounding conferences is based on legacy. Not really what they are doing in the current year. Which is why there is always a backlash against outside conferences and teams becoming good.

They haven't played anyone, when your toughest game so far in the season was against 7-3 wvu and you are ranked lower then a team that has the same record as you and plays in the mwc then I would call that a weak schedule and evidently a few other "experts" do to.

I give BSU the benefit of the doubt because they try to play good teams. They even offered to play away with no return date and cant get a taker.

Its a no win situation for the bigger schools to play them. You win and oh well its just BSU, you lose and its "well they did lose to boise early in the year"

I'm generally big on who you beat, not who you lose to, but one thing about the Big East this season is that they don't have the bad losses that some other conferences have.

They lost one game to a non-big six conference (Utah). Go through any other conference (besides the SEC) and you are going to find upsets all over the place.

I don't want to take the time to list them all now, but there's only a handful of signature non-conference wins across the country. So I'd bet for every big win any major conference has OOC, you can find at least one bad loss (and in some cases, several) that counters that. So, the Big East doesn't have either extreme which puts them in just about the same position as most of the other conferences.
