1. Flooding the front page of this forum by bumping hordes of two-month-old threads for no legitimate reason, so anything currently meaningful (or meaningless, but new) is dropped down to the bottom of the page or onto the next.

MORE TO COME LATER....

I'm using diplomacy as a first strike. Brute force only comes into play if diplomacy fails.

I figured it was WLS again but it was just his friend or another one of his alter egos... can't tell which yet.

Just delete the threads all together. It's annoying but not enraging.

Yeah, then we have idiots complaining because their post count is going down.

No...I don't find that enraging, so it doesn't make the "Things Heretic Finds Enraging" list. Or at least, it's below "Having to listen to/delete phone messages from debt collectors looking for my ex-wife" on the list.

Problem with that is that then people would bitch because their post count dropped.

I just installed a plugin that will lock old threads after they reach a certain number of days without a post. I am trying to determine what time frame to use. I am thinking 30 days or 45 days.

My post count is the most important thing in the world to me

For the reason Society mentioned (and regardless of how dumb it sounds to me for someone to complain about their post count going down a bit due to one or more threads getting deleted, it has happened before), I wouldn't want Justin to put up with the hassle of anyone complaining because they lost a few posts (and I would definitely not want to deal with it).

But I did come up with a secret second idea!

My comment was more sarcasm than a question. It's ridiculous that people really care about it.

I'd say 30 is plenty..if nobody comments on a thread in a month...it's pretty much worthless. And yes..sadly..there is quite a few people that give a damn about there post counts. Makes them feel...superior I guess?

It won't matter what time frame you use, Mayberry's finest will find the oldest to TTT.

Maybe it should just be a "known" entity of the freehuddle that, after 30 days of a thread's inactivity, the thread will be deleted and the post counts will drop. Why be like that other site and worry about post counts? THIS IS THE FREEHUDDLE!!!! We're different (and the little things don't matter).
