Best draft pick ever!justincredible wrote:Agreed. Revis is outstanding.bulldog8 wrote: Nothing better than Rivers looking like a fool today on the Revis interception. As much as I think the Colts will win this game, I absolutely love the play of Revis. What an unbelievable player....What's even better is that he does his job in a respectful fashion. He doesn't go overboard on celebration, he doesn't run his mouth, and he takes care of his business. Kid let's his play do the talking - only about 5% of the NFL actually does this. Hats off to this guy!

Have fun by the way. Downtown Indy is a lot of fun because everything is so close together. Lucas Oil is a really nice stadium and depending on the people around you is actually a nice place to be a visitor. That said, Ive also seen people get destroyed who went against the Colts.justincredible wrote: Jets weren't supposed to beat the Bengals or the Chargers so I know no one is going to give them a chance in this game either. Just the fact that they have made it this far is good enough for me. I'll be headed to the game and I'll enjoy it win or lose.
If you do get into trouble, just remind everyone that "we all hate Brady and the Pats" and they will forgive your allegiance to the Jets.
If you dont mind me asking, what days are you going? Just for the game Sunday or making a weekend out of it?

By the way, has anyone realized how many Big Ten players the Jets have that are key contributors?
Nick Mangold - Ohio State
Braylon Edwards - Michigan
Shonn Greene - Iowa
Dustin Keller - Purdue
Jay Feely - Michigan
Jim Leonhard - Wisconsin
David Harris - Michigan
13 total Big Ten players. Maybe it's about average, just seems like a lot of their big time players are Big Ten guys.

Not sure yet. I used to live in Fishers so I know people from the area so I might head up on Saturday and stay with friends. Depends on what kind of ticket(s) I end up getting. It's looking like I'll be getting a ticket by myself since my wife really couldn't care less about football.Laley23 wrote:Have fun by the way. Only ask because I MAY be down for the game (without a ticket) starting Saturday. But I also am not sure I can take off work since I am going to most likely be taking off if they (knocking on wood) make the super bowl.justincredible wrote:

I agree totally with bulldog8 concerning the play of Revis in the play-offs. He does his job, goes back to the huddle and then he does his job again. So refreshing in this age of demonstrative celebrations after every minor play...However, I really like Peyton Manning so I'll be pulling for Peyton and the Colts to advance. I think it started for me when Peyton showed up at a Kenny Chesney concert and actually appeared and even performed on stage with Chesney. Just a "good old boy" having a good time.

Anytime the Cowboys are out of the playoffs and the Colts are still in it I'm on their bandwagon haha. I just have a lot of respect for Manning and always like seeing him do well.

From MMQB (Peter King) on Revis:
A cornerback can't play much better than Darrelle Revis did Sunday.
"We've got a ton of respect for Revis,'' Philip Rivers told me Friday at the Chargers' training facility, "but we're not going to avoid him. We'll take some shots at him.''
Oh really? Rivers went back to pass 45 times (40 passes, two sacks, three runs after being chased from the pocket), and I charted Revis' coverage pattern on every one of Rivers' pass-drops. By my count, Rivers threw four passes into the zone where Revis had primary coverage, or to the man Revis was playing man-to-man. One was complete, to LaDainian Tomlinson, for a loss of four yards. One, to Legadu Naanee, was batted down by a diving Revis on a cross route. One, to Vincent Jackson, a deep pass up the left seam, was overthrown, with Revis and Jackson running stride for stride. And the fourth, to Jackson, was up for grabs between the two, with Revis coming down with a juggled ball for an interception in a spectacular play.
Four times Rivers went at Revis in 45 pass calls. One completion, for minus-four. One interception. You cannot play the position better than Revis played it Sunday. I don't care if you're Deion Sanders or Night Train Lane. Revis put on a clinic, a masterful display of clinging coverage and bump-and-run when the situation called for it.
"We were playing a lot of man coverage on his side regardless who the receiver was,'' Rex Ryan said, "and on the other side we were running some loaded zones and mixes and things like that. He had the tough guy most of the time.''
I told Revis the numbers in the tunnel after the game, just before he boarded the team buses for the airport. "I guess they gave me a lot of respect. It's my job, to cover guys, and I hope I do it pretty well.''
More than pretty well.

^^I love Revis' response to the reporter. A friend of mine and myself were watching the game yesterday and said that what he does is so impressive that the game coverage almost warrants a split screen setup.....Half the screen to monitor Revis at all times in coverage and the other half of the screen to follow the ball. I think i'd rather just watch him the entire game - there's something extremely impressive about a guy that can run backwards as fast as someone else running forwards.

A stat I like:
The Jets are 2-0 vs the Colts in the playoffs all-time. The first victory being Super Bowl 3 and the last being a 41-0 rout in the 2002 Wild Card round.
Just sayin'.

I'm serious justin......the Colts will either roll by a significant margin or win by crap calls or the Jets if they do win......you'll almsot be too furious to enjoy it...for a short while.
Your Jets are eerily running the table thus far like my Steelers during their 5th SB run.

No, this is eerily shaping up like the Giants run in 2007.
Jets 2009 - 5th seed
Giants 2007 - 5th seed
Jets WC round - win 24-14

Jets 2nd round - win by 3

The Jets also remind me a little bit of the 2001 Baltimore Ravens...
Great defense, just asking the QB to manage the game, and a great running game...

If the Jets beat the Colts on a FG in OT and Braylon predicts the Saints/Vikings will only score 17 points I'm betting my house on the Jets winning it all.justincredible wrote: No, this is eerily shaping up like the Giants run in 2007.
